what is the best way to cut and edit videos from the mavic using a PC not a mac. editing on my phone just is not the way to go

I use Cyberlink Power director 15 and love it.  Also davinci resolve free version is ok.

Have you tried Quik?

FCPX or iMovie for me!

I've been using  Wondershare Filmora and Gopro studio. Pretty easy to learn.  Both can process 4K.

Actually bought Premiere Pro CC for the drone. Still the best tool around imho.

Dependin on your skill, willing to learn I guess. I use Premiere Pro CC, might be a bit difficult to get used to but it's definitely the best tool out there

I use SolveigMM Video Splitter to cut my videos (very easy to use) I also use PowerDirector 15 which I find quite easy. I don't do any colour correction yet.

Now I'm getting there. Thanks everyone for your support. New at editing too and hare to learn something new.
