For many people it's hard to find an agent that is familiar with insuring drones in their state. Many agents won't do it or will do it but with a large deductable or other catch. I made a quick form to submit the contact info of agents who wrote a drone policy so that others can find agents easily.

The form is 8 very quick questions that should take less than a minute of your time while helping others save a ton of time with trying to find an agent. My goal for this is to have every state covered.

For those that don't know about insurance through State Farm, you can get your drone insured through their PAP (Personal Articals Policy) for $60 a year and no deductible. It will cover both lost / stolen as well as accidental damge (crash). Unlike refresh it does not require you to have the drone to make a claim, can be renewed each year, covers accessories, has no 48 hour limit, and you get a brand new drone (no repairs or refurbished).
The only problem is that each agent and underwriter has their own discression, so many people need to all around before finding one that will write the policy.

Thx that is helpful... I mentioned this long time ago that you can add anytime NOT only drones to your home insurance. You can add up to $50,000.00 under personal items. I have 3 notebooks, 4 professional cameras, OSMO and add it all my drones to it too. Even if you drop it of table it is cover.

As you said it depends on the agent and how  knowledgeable and eager to get your business.

What states are included in the 11?  It would be nice to document these states.  I'm in TX and have SF PAP.  The only state I'm aware of that does not offer PAP is California.

I am in PA and I added my Mavic, camera equipment and tablet ($3,000 worth) for $55/yr. Damaged/Lost/Stolen all covered with no deductible!

I contacted State Farm yesterday (Florida) and was told they do not ensure drones that are used commercially...

That is correct. That would be a different "business" policy. If you are not under Part 107 license, you should not be collecting $ for services anyway. If you are not under Part 107, you just get a personal article plan.

I did ask if they have had many Drones insured and I am the first one,  they did have to check with the under writers but that only took about 10 minutes,  sent in the invoice emails I got for DJI and that was it , quick and easy . $50 a year no deductible

Washington State, $36/yr no deductible.  First call to SF said no, i needed to bundle. 2nd call to another agent had no problem.

I got $1300 coverage on mine for $2 per month . They added it to an existing PAP policy that I have on my tractor .

Your $2 per month, like the policies in the post above, only covers damages to your drone.  They will do nothing for you if you crash and damage someone's property or bodily injury.  The guy paying $60 a month is also getting $1,000,000 in liability coverage.  This is about the same cost I pay to insure my five drones.

Nebraska $30 for 1500 coverage zero deductible PAP.

That makes sense. Commercial liability insurance is insanely expensive.

Nothing for New Jersey yet?

Signed up today in Washington.  Its already on the list, Paid 36/yr $1300 coverage (fly more package), confirmed coverage for crash, fly away's lost, stolen.  Does not cover personal injury or damage to other items.

Just wanted to say thank you, got my mavic insured with Joanne McMahon, who works with Christie Simmons (already listed in the google spreadsheet) in NY. Very friendly, knew exactly what I was talking about after I mentioned drone. I called a few other state farm agents closer to NYC where I live and they had no clue what I was talking about. Joanne was great!

If commission is a thing with SF that would certainly be cool. Let me know. If not I am happy to have one all of this just to help out the community.

I had contacted a local agent here in Michigan that told me that because I do not have State Farm for home owners I would have to at least carry a fire policy thru them in order to get drone coverage. I guess I need to contact the one on the list.

Nice work on the spreadsheet. Have you considered also adding a column for the city in which the agent is located to make it easier for people to identify an agent that's closer to them? It looks like for at least the majority of cases it won't matter since it can be handled over the phone, but still might be a worthwhile addition.

I could but it would only show on future results. And as you said it really doesn't matter. I live a few hundred miles away from my agent.
