I believe if everyone was having this issue we would have heard about it.

Sounds like you had a power failure or maybe a large insect or bird hit your props.
It would be remiss if also your battery wasn't seated all the way in but I assumed it is.

Hopefully your flight records will help.

So if the battery wasn't seated what would the support center say would it be my fault or they would repair it at no cost

2 days ago I went to a friends place to film his farm and surrounding areas.   I have 3 batteries so second battery I let him try my drone.  I also showed him how you can insert a battery and think they are fine but if not clicked in properly can be pulled out.  So I always click them in then try to pull out to ensure seated correctly.  He was really surprised how easy the drone was to use.  Then I downloaded the file to open in google earth so can show the latitude and longitude and the flight path.

If battery is not inserted correctly that is pilot error.

Like blackcrusader mentioned, not properly inserting the battery wouldn't be covered under warranty if that is the case. To clarify, however, are you in the process of getting your flight records reviewed by Support?

Why are we focussing on a battery falling out? The OP has not said anything to indicate that this happened to him. At this time, nothing is known, and until flight records are viewed, not much more can be deduced.

A month or so ago, I flew my drone.  Everything started up ok, battery level was at 80%, calibration was normal and I had a good GPS lock.  I took it up to around 175 feet and flew out about 500 feet when all of a sudden I got a message saying critical battery, and the drone was landing.  I was unable to cancel the landing but I did have directional control.  I was lucky and got the drone back to where I was flying from and landed.  Rule is, always charge your battery fully before flight.  I had charged it a week prior and didn't think there would be any issue.  I have had no issues since but make sure I top off the batteries before each flight.

If you sync your flight records and provide the emailed used to with the GO app I will review the flight to see if I see anything unusual.
Here's the link to contact support, and sorry for your crash.

It's shameful. They seem to prefer to look for an easy way around the obvious... Instead of staying true to the pilot.
It's simpler to Blame the operator. Instead of looking deeper into the real reason for these failures.

I'm keen to see the flight LOG first, and try to establish a real error, not guessing, and pointing fingers.
I will always be sure my flight packs are seated properly, before flying. Knowing what we see above, as an easy out....

Pretty simple really.  You could register with healthydrones and upload your logs as they are on your smartphone or tab.  From there you go to the date of the flight and download the information file.
You can also download the CSV file as well and email them to DJI support.

To sync the flight records in the Go app, you would select the cloud icon that's in the top right corner of the Flight Record section.

To do that make sure you are connected to your home wifi as well.

Jamie just as a point of interest if I did that and wanted to let you access those records uploaded on my DJI App would you just need my Drones username?
Is that enough or would you need other information as well?

I would need the email you used to activate the drone and the date that needed to be looked up.

I cannot see that from the link provided what I do see it says 86% battery at landing.

You don't land when in the air that's for sure.

Perhaps if the OP can download the original file from healthy drones and upload it to http://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/

Yes download it to your computer from healthydrones.com

Then open the Phantomhelp page and click on the file then upload it using upload log. So you need internet to upload.

Once it's uploaded copy the URL and paste it here.  Will look like this...

Just remember battery voltage does not keep your Phantom in the sky, CURRENT does.   Voltage is simply a measure of potential.   A battery can say 100%, yet have only enough capacity to lift the Phantom to height, then lose all ability to keep it there.

No Phantoms that I am aware of can tell you the batteries current capacity.   Only voltage.    Therefore you must have some knowledge of these things because voltage alone is not enough information.

Yes, I'm telling you that you can never completely trust the voltage indication or "battery percentage" fully.
You have to "know" your battery and occasionally TEST the real capacity yourself.

This is the reason it is never a good idea to make multiple flights on a single charge or fly with a battery that has been shelved for some time....or a partially charged battery.

So it that a me issue or a Dji issue

It depends on whether or not the deviation was caused by prolonged aggressive flying or if it was just sporatic. The latter tend to be covered under warranty if the battery is within its warranty period. If you flew knowing it was a damaged battery (per warning messages etc.) could void the warranty as well.

So if voltage is not the problem can u go look on the like I put out and find out what the real reason this all happe...

I know it was not aggressive flying because I was just sitting still looking at somthing so we can eliminate aggressively flying

OK Please also read this thread. You can also use healthydrones to see more information about your battery condition, number of flights, number of charges, cell deviations etc.

The flight I got my critical message I was also hovering taking a video.  If DJI said hey BC you do push your flights to the limit I might need to agree. I do fly often to max height and far distances.  Not always its just depends on my location.   I did a near 13000' distance in a valley at a height of 400'.  So 26000' to get out and back and came back with 35% battery.
Very light wind and it was just a fun flight to test my Artek range.  Is this pushing the drone and the battery hard?
