I just got my Phantom 3 advanced and love it.  One problem is mounting my iPad on the controller.  My iPad is 7.25 inches high while the holder extends to just below 7 inches.  In order to make things work, I'm using a small bungee cord (see the photo).  But I wonder if anyone else has a better solution.

Thanks in advance,
Bob

Which iPad model is that? Are you extending the device holder out fully? There is a button on the side that will release the top portion of the device holder.

I don't think you are opening it fully. I'm using an iPad Air2 Cellular, which just fits, with a couple of clicks to lock it down.

Please press that button on the side, to extend it out. If I am mistaken, there are adapters available that will help extend the device holder.

Yes, I have extended it all the way to its full height.  The photo that I showed is after I hook the bungee over the iPad and then press down the holder to stretch the elastic  grip of that bungee.  My iPad is an older model and is 7.25 inches high.  You'll see my problem if you extend your holder and measure it.  At full height, it is less than 7 inches.  You mentioned an adapter.  Can you provide more detail on that?
Many thanks,
Bob

You can get an extender for it, but that old iPad will be super top heavy

You may want to get a metal bracket as well. The plastic one is not very sturdy with a heavy I Pad. They are available on amazon with a larger IPad holder included or without.

The adapters are 3rd party, and a Google search has various ones pop up quite easily.

I very recently bought a Phantom 3 Standard, and ended up buying an 8" Samsung Tab A to go with it.  But, as you said, it doesn't fit.  After buying a no-drill solution that left little clearance for the left controller stick, I got inventive.
I used a peg-board piece (see picture) and 3 rubber bands.  I put the metal pegboard piece into a vice and bent it into some semblance of a hook, the secured it to the factory phone clamp, added rubber at the top to help prevent slipping and, voila!  Light-weight, homemade tablet holder without drilling.  I'm sure I'll continue to refine the concept, but I'm happy with it for now.
It ain't sexy, but it's effective!
Hopefully, the links will work.

Wow, im sure that will feel very heavy and it will wobble with the standard plastic mount.
Samsung do a 32" screen if you want a big screen to view {:4_181:}

I'd love a large HD monitor for my Phantom 3 Pro, but there is no where to place it on my SpYder RS-S. To transport it to the Heli field... ;-)

Thanks for that link.  That holder appears to be for an Inspire model.  I read someone else used that on a Phantom3 Adv, but another member of this forum showed me a small extender than can fit atop the one I have now.  Also, he recommended (and I ordered) a metal support that will be more suitable for the additional weight.  Thanks again for you help.

Thanks for your advice and photos.  Your solution is similar to what I'm using now.  I don't know if you saw the photo, but I simply used a small bungee cord to reach above the extended holder.  It works, but I wanted something that was more designed for the Phantom, and an extender was shown to me that will do the job perfectly.
Best regards,
Bob

Yeah, I gave a moment's thought to buying a slightly smaller tablet, but another member of this forum turned me on to a plastic extender that is made for exactly this purpose.  I ordered that.  Thanks very much for your posting.

Well, I wouldn't say it's heavy at all, especially since  I also use a lanyard.  I did try using my iPhone 6, but the larger iPad display is much better when flying FPV.
