Is there a fairly capable drone that is under .55 lbs?   It doesn't have to match the Mavic's awesomness.  Maybe 2K/8MP camera, software gimbal, 1-2 mi range, 20 min flight time.

It's exasperating to deal with rules and regulations....federal, state, local, parks.  Take all the joy our of it. Sigh...

...maybe the "rumored" Mavic Mini could be the dream come true.  Holding my breath.

I don't know of one and would be surprised if there's one with those capabilities. For what it's worth, though, DJI is trying to get the FAA to increase that weight threshold to 4.9lbs (2.2kg), so there's a possibility that the rules for flying a Mavic will be very different at some point in the future.
