So I decided to go out for a lunch time flight, Then this happen thought I was going to crash but luckily I was not to high and I could see the Mavic .....
I was flying in sports mode.

Was it just the gimble re-initializing during the flight, or was the Mavic itself flying all wonky?

Just the Gimbal went Crazy I think, After this happened I noticed that the recording had stopped.

There have been another thread or two on this very same subject recently.  I don't know if Sport mode has anything to do with it, but I think it was a good idea to include that information in your description of the situation leading to the gimble mid-flight dance.

If you haven't yet, you may want to search those other threads.  I believe they were posted just in the past week.  It would be nice to get to the bottom of this.  Fortunately it doesn't seem to affect the flight, but can understand the alarm it causes the pilot, and the annoyance of disturbing the recording of a video segment.

I'll follow your thread with interest......

This is exactly what happened to a Mavic that I received from dji however, when it happened to me the camera would just stop recording. It was a gimbal and camera issue for me hopefully they will assist you with the problem and get it fixed.

See if a gimbal calibration resolves it.
If not, then connect it to the Assistant2 and restore to factory defaults and see if that clears it.

The Assistant2 is a computer software program and has nothing to do with your tablet and DJI GO app.
Here is the link to download it to your PC or Mac.
It's used for updating firmware, downloading flight logs, sensor calibrations, and flight simulator.

I see on another place that the gimbal in time on 100 flights to say...could develop problems with the fine cables in behind...they rub the metal edge and become unprotected and prone to short or beak...check also the cables...

I had already done the restore to factory defaults, This happened on my first flight from doing the restore,
I will try to have a fly today to make sure everything is fine again.

Hi Ken
Two flights done today.
First one in sports mode the same happened the gimbal went crazy after about 5 mins of flying. (18min flight)
Second flight in Normal mode no problems or issues with the gimbal (27min flight).
My conclusion, The issue is with sports mode and the gimbal, At the moment it is an issue I can live with however if this starts to happen in normal mode then I will have to look at getting DGI to fix this.
I have inspected the drone and what wires I can see all looks fine. The only issue I have ever had with the mavic was the horizon not being level but after the latest update this starts to happen......
Coincidence or issue ?

I will keep you informed.

OK, sorry about that. The camera has a 6 month warranty. If you have any down time, I would send it in for evaluation. That shouldn't be happening.
