When is dji gonna fix the firmware,I'm constantly getting weak signal and total rc loss which activates rth...v disappointed with my drone

I did a service request after trying every suggestion on these forums.  The end result was send it in for repair.  Filled out the repair request and they e-mail me a shipping label.  It was delivered yesterday.

Hi yes using iPhone 5..had no problem before January update..I love it and fly at any chance hence why I didn't want to send it in for repair..take so long..only new at Xmas

Same here.  Bought in November.  Got the updates in Jan. and has not flown right since.  Good Luck.

i think it depends on the phone used for the app..... using an old galaxy note and it works perfect!

Yep, I'm in the same boat.  Flew it all last fall with no range/interference issues.  Upgraded the firmware about a week ago and now nothing by weak signal warnings.  I just ordered a range extender antenna to see if that does anything to help.

I got one of those little copper extender it helped as I was only getting 30 to 40 meters...why can't DJI just do another firmware update...a cheaper drone would be as good

I was reaching out to almost two miles last year (private property) with the blue proton range extender and since i pulled my P3S this last week, i have barely been able to hit 1k feet.

Was it something in the update??

I started fresh with this update so I don't have anything to look back on. But I do get that weak signal error a lot,even when the machine is within 100'. It's difficult to take off between "high interference" warnings too.

I found a place to get the 1.05.xx  and tried a few different ways to upload it and it wasn't until this morning that i noticed a text file and every attempt was documented "New Firmware does not support downgrading."

My P3S might as well be a brick.  Thanks DJI!

I have the same updates an it works fine so it's something else.
Have you formatted the card and updated that way.
Also clear all date from apps cache and restart your phone.
On startup first AC then RC and last app.

I'm having the same problem with my Galaxy Tab A. Does not matter if I'm at home or out in the field. Constantly losing connection or receiving weak signal message. Somethings not right.

Even in AC>RC> APP order, I still got the same results, less than 1k ft distance, even with the Argtek.

No wonder ther are hundreds of secondhand phantoms for sale

I'm running the 1.8.10 firmware on a P3S with an Ipad mini 2 and getting  Max Distance 3,235 ft (986 meters) flying across a lot of trees. I take it up about  Max Altitude 393.7 ft
Added a parabolic and was able to get  Max Distance 4,635 ft (1412 meters) before I chickened out.  Has been too windy for me to try for more distance this past week.
When I do this I push till it loses signal and it does the RTH

I would cry If only getting 30 to 40 meters are you still in beginner mode? Also go through the DJI go app and set Max Flight Altitude (I have mine set at 120 for USA less than the 400 feet ) and disable the Enable Max Distance

I'm running the same firmware as you...wish I could get that distance..my beginner mode is off..I'll try your suggestions and give it a try..

Finally a nice in Ireland..got to fly today..was plagued with RTH

I just sent mine in for repair. How long did they take to fix it and get it back to you?

Still waiting to get it returned.  They claimed I damaged the controller and wanted $165 to fix it.  I can buy a new controller for $99.  I asked them to just return it.

Been having the same issues. I can get about 80m before I get weak RC signal or complete loss of signal. Been happening since early Jan also. Was flying out to 500m or so and then the next day it was only getting to 80m. Only purchased in November 2016. Was going brilliantly and now it's giving me no joy.

I bought mine in January and did a firmware update right away and am on 1.8.10. Stock i was reaching out to 8700 feet. I put on the Argtek and now can hit 10150 going East and 9070 West. I use an Ipad pro and sometimes my Iphone 6 plus. The range issues seem to be random with people and not specific to just IOS or Android, there are reports going either way. It doesn't seem to be just a version of firmware as some are having issues while others using the same version are not. To top It all off some are having issues only after updating.

I'm like boxhead,bought in November and started with issues in early January..

This needs to be looked at, I'm not going to send my drone in for repair when it was fine before the update, something with the update is causing this problem..
