Wow, summit actually has snow! Impressive... When we were poor college students, we use to hide the alcohol by the tap house up top. Grab a shot, race down. Looks like you guys had fun tho!

You should check out bear's snowboard park - it's a ton of fun - I don't live in socal anymore, but does the mtn allow you to bring your drone on it? If so (i'd probably buy a cheaper one) I'd take it, you could get some fantastic shots of people skiing/boarding.

I checked with the airport and the B4UFLY app and it was fine. Im not sure if the people who run the park would be mad but it was legal to fly. I just launched from the parking lot then flew around a little bit then went back to boarding.

Yea it great if your ever in an area your unfamiliar with pull up the app and it give you all the info needed.

Sadly most ski resorts have adopted a strict no drone policy, I wish I could shoot out here in Utah!

If you fly from somewhere else and follow the laws they cant really do anything about whats in the sky. As they dont own the sky..

Just saying.... Throw it up take some keep shots... Bring it down... That's the best thing about the Mavic... it's quick. .... Again just saying lol

The Mountain in the video is Big Bear in California.

Very cool! You guys got to Boulder Bay when it was all snowy and frozen.  I went there a few weeks ago to do some drone flying and it was all mostly melted by then.  Still a beautiful place! And I also got some footage of Snow Summit with people skiing some too. Love it up there!

Thanks, we will be going to Hawaii next month so ill gonna try to get so good footage there and make another video!

Does your Mavic have the gimbal tilt issue? A couple of your first shots look tilted slightly. Mine was like that until I moved one of the tabs of the gimbal mount back where it was supposed to be.

I noticed that also. I have checked the tabs and everything is in place. I was looking around the forum and found you can change the horizon tilt so im going to try that on my next flight.

Same! We were trying to beat the traffic leaving the Mountain so we grabbed some quick food and left!
