I just returned from a week of diving around Komod Island in Indonesia. Brought along my Mavic and mixed it with some underwater footage to put together highlights of the week.

I used 1080P30, auto exposure, vivid. Frame rate was taken up to 60fps (to match the underwater video) using FCPX.

Nice voiceover too, you could narrate tv shows!

The komodo dragons look a lot more friendly in your video than seen in nature films. Looks like a lot of fun.

Wow ! Great video, what a life.
Having George (Clooney) do the voice over was a real bonus.

Wow!  Those kamodo beasts are intimidating.  Nice above & below shots.

Thanks for sharing your video and your camera settings.  But still so many questions.....

Did you use any filters or polarization lens during the aerial footage?  Or did you do much color grading in post?

It is, that's why I shoot 1080P30 and then let FCPX take it up to 60fps with it's optical flow setting.

No filters on the Mavic. I did a small amount of exposure adjustment on one or two clips, most are straight off the Mavic.

Booked a week on the Info Aggressor, it's a liveaboard dive boat that sails around Komodo and Bali. We lived on the boat for the week.

Amazing.. I've always been a big fan of the Komodo dragon. I have some really great photos from a zoo trip we took. It is on my bucket list to someday do exactly the same thing. Diving and some awesome photography of those majestic dragons.

That was so good to watch,  and is that your voice doing the VO, my guess is you do VO for  job and if not you should, two thumbs up.

Wow.  Makes me want to learn to dive.  You got to visit a place like that, live on a boat for a week, dive, take awesome video's & pics?  Simply wow.  Good job

Sony RX-100 III in a Nauticam housing.

Simply phenomenal, congratulations, this video has everything, magic colors, great voice and wonderful pictures. LOVED it.

I did not need a permit, most of the shots were done over water and all were done with the permission of the rangers on the island or the dive masters on our scuba liveaboard.
