Aside from the custom settings being locked out in the UK, I also believe that when you change the region to the USA on the iPad, it also changes the power output on the remote. So you would not be legal in the UK at the stronger power (FCC version) instead of the CE.  I would be careful that this does not get you into trouble locally.
Up to 5 km or 3.1 miles when FCC compliant
Up to 3.5 km or 2.1 miles when CE compliant
So if I am wrong about this do not yell at me, but this was reported in many areas that the remote GL658A, B, C power is regulated by the region it is located and/or the devices attached. AS these remotes are the same except for Japan that is using 922.7-927.7 MHz (Japan Only)


It is to bad that the custom channel is not enabled for the UK , it would be nice if you could adjust these features no matter what area you live.

I had the same issue until yesterday.  Glitchy with my iPad Mini just like in your video.  I read somewhere that the firmware update in December wasn't working well with older processors.  I tested my Inspire 1 Pro with my iPhone 6 and not one glitch.  I already live in the USA, but I'll look into your idea as well.  

THANK YOU! i was having this annoying problem for such a long time. I was near, did the same as you did but never tried channel 20. My problem with the glitch is solved, me happy! Now solve my next problem, CPU overload on Apple devices, have this on both, Mavic Pro and Inspire 1 with both Iphone and Ipad....
