Hi guys,

Im after some help or see if anyone else has the same problem. My Mavic flys great and behaves just how i want except for one detail. When using my iphone 7 plus it reguarly comes up with a "Gimbal disconnection" and the only way to reset it is restarting the app, controller or drone itself. The problem may go away for a battery or 2 or it may come straight back within a few seconds. I have now found that if i put airplane mode on while flying the problem completly goes away. So is it a shielding issue with the RC and the iphone is interfering with the signal?

Never had this problem with my IPhone 7 Plus. Have you tried another phone or tablet? Could it be your Mavic?

Hi Matt, did you capture any screenshot of the error message?
Is the firmware up to date?

I tend to think that it is an app on your phone that is turned off in airplane mode. There are many other users of this phone without the problem.

This is the error I get and screen goes black. But as I said if the phone is in airplane mode it never happens

That's weird if the error never happens when your phone is in airplane mode.
I'll help to report this to our engineers for review.

DJI knows about this - I have talked to tech support via chat and they admitted this IPhone Plus issue isn't new....BTW,  I have the same issue.  The work around is to plug your phone through the USB and you will be good to go until there is a fix for the side port or a different device .

Thanks I tried this today and it does work fine in the normal USB port with airplane mode not activated. So yes its just the side port on the controller causing the issue.
