No problem with getting into Thailand with the drone. You will have to avoid flying over people or cities. I flew it around Phuket in the mountains and around the coast with no issues. The Thais are more intrigued than anything and will want to crowd around you to see what the drone sees. Your problem, if any, will be the expats who are worried you specifically bought a drone to film them half naked in Thailand.

Thank you very much for this info. Surely i will keep it away from the nudists.

Cheers!

No problems to fly anywhere in Thailand EXCEPT any royal family place. That would be a very bad idea. Some guards say you can't fly in public parks which is bs. Anyways many nice locations to shot like temples and beaches.

The law is pretty much the same as Canada's. The height limit is 90 meters/300 feet. Can't fly after sunset. Can't fly closer than 30 meters/100 feet to people, animals, buildings. The maximum fine is 40,000 THB.

But from my experience, the only people that seem to care are the public park guards.

I am thinking of bringing my mavic too. but on many sites that I come across I see posts about registering your drone in thailand and that you have to ask for permission from the goverment and stuff? Is this true? (just to be sure).  Thanks for the help in advance.

Just back from Thailand, no issues what so ever. Didn't fly in Bangkok although.
No Fly Zones were clearly marked by signs in Koh Samui and Ang Thong for example.

Here's a small teaser I made. Hope you like it.
