DJI should give you a direct line on their support channel   then maybe we could be some real help with issues when they come up.

No, nothing to do with the APP
The APP will show progress, but apparently it's buggy too.
You don't need Android or IOS or whatever device connected to your transmitter (TX)
Update start as soon as you power up the craft.

Followed the Dundee procedures exactly.

My bird still won't take an up date - I ran it for 50 minutes before powering down and checking the SD card in my computer. No results files at all.

Bird continues to say "firmware is latest- normal".

Could DJI Help Line guy be right in saying "if you run androids that updates are automatic"?

Just done this, thanks for making it so simple. Whats the big positives you have all noticed in this firmware

I checked the beeping sound. There was no D-DD, and the D-D-D-D has stopped.

It would be very nice if someone from DJI could reactivate my bird which is dead just by trying to update.

Many other electronic equipments or software have a  "rool-back" to the version before.

Not so Inspire 1.

A failed update means aircraft is grounded.  "We have no tools for resetting to factory default settings" said the support.  

Now I'm stuck after two days of frustration.

For some reason I don't feel confident with the update,

Yes, both of them. But I get no connection. How long should I wait before I shut down the Inspire-update? 1 hour , 2 hours?

45 minutes is enough if you feel nothing is going on
Power on TX and Craft.
Led on TX red indicates no signal (TX not see the Craft)
If so, try rebinding your Transmitter to the Craft

Mine never beeped either, but waited 45min and did the check and success ! By following your chart the updates went  smooth. Will do a check flight tomorrow.

TIP: Play with simulator for a while if you not sure. (if you have IOS)
      

Just came in from flying the bird and it did very well. The only thing was some vibration in the arms.
Never had that issue before.But made new cop friends.

Does it matter if you update the Rc first or the Inspire first?

Is the feature working inside the app that is supposed to tell you your firmware is not up to date, mine says it is but how could it be?! (iOS)

Classic! It took 6 minutes for the bird then 5 minutes for the TX I had it STARTED up in 14 minutes from start to finish.
I'm sorry to hear so many people are having such problems DARN IT.

No, it does not matter, as long as you not forget to upgrade them both.

My 2 cents
Do not power up tranmitter during upgrade of the craft. This is a kind of security that it
can't interfere during upgrading the craft.
And visa versa for the transmitter.

Dundee, do you work for DJI? If not you should. They should pay you for this. Better yet they should give you a new Inspire for doing their work for them. Great job man. Hats off to you. DJI ..... Weird never got any DDD or DA DA DA of any kind. only on the remote

mine is very low volume.

Just updated mine with dundee´s advice.

Actually it took only about 3 minutes to upgrade the Craft. (Beep changed from D-D-D to D----D-D)
The Remote took about 8-10 minutes (wait for green-light on the remote)
