Thank you, this is my longest video so far. Thought maybe 6 minutes might be too long. Glad you enjoyed it.

Yep, I just did a 7 min. video of our trip to Hawaii...it is definitely rough around the edges but looking at yours, helps me in the future.  I think you can have a long video, just as long as it is kept interesting.

Yes, you are right....short sequences help also. That means lots of footage to choose from.

Great one, I'm mostly thinking about what has happened in this houses and the story around them (halfway in your video). The landscape is of course nice here and as I said before must be fantastic to live there.

The buildings you see are part of an old abandoned mine called Independence Mine. Lots of history and it is crowded with tourists in the summer. In the winter, I usually have the place to myself.

Thanks for your explanation, I can see the advantages of both times.

Great great Video!!!! (I do no mind the length of it)  The Aurora´s are excellent.

It will be nice if you can explain a little bit how did you shoot the Aurora´s. I just got back from a trip to Lofoten Islands (Norway) I got to see a few Auroras (not as intensive like yours)  but the shots I took where not that great.

I shoot Auroras with my Canon 5DIII and 6D. I set them up for ISO 1600 6secs and f2.8. I then adjust as needed. Those settings get me in the ballpark for a good Aurora. I then take about 2000 images and combine them in a time-lapse.

I used a ND filter on most of the clips. ND8 to ND32

Alaska,
Is it true that the Aurora is not seen very well by the naked eye? --- That through a camera lens it becomes much more predominant?

That is true for faint Auroras. When you get a good storm the Aurora can light up the entire sky...and landscape. I usually won't even get my camera out until it gets bright.
