Hello,

here is a small picture taken yesterday of the DJI Inspire 2 and the French President.

Operator : Live Drone (Thomas Jumel)
Camera Operator : Live Drone ( Loic Borne)
On site technical supervision and machines preparations : E-Copter ( Myself, Fabien Deregel)
Safety parchute system (mandatory in France) : Flying Eye
Broadcasting supervisor to guide us : Luca ( Live Drone)
Customer : French army Audiovisual services / French presidency
Conditions : Live broadcasting
Time in flight : 3 hours non stop ( just battery swaps)

Problems encountered : ZERO

Please can you tell me what the attachments are on top of the aircraft?

I'm with Altitude Drones--I'd like to know how how your flying is affected by the parachutes. Are they noticeable as far as responsiveness and stability?

Hi,

these are the "Flying Eye"  pyrotechnical paradchutes coupled with a power cutoff module ( located on the ESC power feed wires), controlled by a 869 mHz emergency remote.
This is mandatory in France to fly the " S3" Scenario, and these parachutes work already at 15 / 20 meters ( i can confirm as we made tests in 2014 with these on a S900).
Expensive stuff, but well the cost of a I2 with CineDNG / Apple Pro res licence, SSD cartridge and X5S are way worth it..

Hi,
we loose a very little flight time of course, but the Inspire 2 is not much affected with these parachutes.
Only in Sport mode it is recommended not to hit the maximum speed in order to avoid too much motor resources, but honnestly, when you fly " S3" scenario ( urban flight), you don't fly fast anyway.
In other scenarios, we remove the parachute pods ( takes 4 screws and 2 minutes)

Thanks for the response! Parachutes aren't required in the US (yet), but it's good to see there are systems available for those who need them.

Whether by choice or by mandate, I may end up with some sooner rather than later.
