Well, let me begin the story.

Started the upgrade my inspire1 on 03/02 at 1:00pm. Took 45 min to upgrade and then sucess (according to TXT file). After then I had the issue with RC that online support soves by sending me the gs_odfm.bin.

After that, my problems became really big.

When the pilot app starts it says that I have the latest firmware BUT an system error is triggered saying "Aircraft update error: Solution - Try to update again" BUT, leaves me NO option to redo the upgrade again.

I have been hours with the online support yesterday and finally the attendant gives up and said that I have to send an email with images and files to them. I did that..

Until now. No answers.

The strange thing is thatthe hidden LOGS generated when the failure occurs contains:

[00004697]Packet [C:\WM610_FW_V01.02.00.17.bin] detected.
[00004709]Packet upgrade start...

[00030302][19 00] v1.0.8.59 -> v1.0.8.59
[00030306]Packet upgrade failed at version checking.

The devices not detected in this case, based on the "About" results on the pilot app are the Camera and the Battery, that, by the way, always shows 0% charge.

Is there any way to redo the upgrade or downgrade the bird so I can try the upgrade again ?

Please, if anyone knows this. Help me.

Thanks a lot.

I think downgrading from ..17 back to ..16 won't work.
But as you have nothing to loose and some spare time you could try anyway
Just upgrade like it would be new firmware but then with WM610_FW_V01.02.00.16.bin

I have already tried that.

The problem occurs exactly like above. My C++senior programmer experience tells me that it didn't even start the upgrade. The error is on the pre-upgrading check (version check).

As the error occurs in this early checking. The upgrade is aborted.

I think that a full reset (factory reset) will be needed.

Any ideas ?

What can you use the USB port in the tail?

My inspire is also bricked at this moment, the firmware upgrade on my 2 RCs wont start.
Just a constant red led. And there is no more connetion to the pilot app :/

It does not fly because it always shows 0% battery.
When I connect the tail USB on the computer, the systen indicator light on overal status turn to "USB Enabled" but shows nothing on my computer.

I'm seriously concerned about this.

Meybe DJI could send me a "return to factory" BIN file. Don't you think ?

Have you left the power of  everything on over night to let ALL batteries deplete to zero?

No. The batery is actually 100% charged . She never deplete to anywhere near zero ever. It shows 0% because it can't read the battery due to the failure of firmware update.

Are you suggesting me to deplete all the battery to see if solves (resets) the system ?

Well I'm stuck.

DJI now says that I have to return my inspire1 back to repair BUT i have a serious issue.

I'm in Brazil. Here nothing is easy and I'pretty sure that if I send this drone, I'll never see him again.

So, I'm accepting suggestions.

Is there any way to hard reset the bird, factory reset or something ?

I'm desperate now.

The DJI forum guys seem to be hard to track down.  They post on a thread here and there but certainly not all of the ones asking for help.

I also know that support in N America is swamped.  If you do have to send it back in to be serviced, expect a long, long, long wait.

Is the general feeling that there are no user serviceable parts to an Inspire1 then?

Roberto did you also update the remote control independently with the inspire one turned off? my suggestion let the battery in the remote run out to zero by leaving it  on overnight and then recharge the remote fully and THEN re-upgrade..with the inspire NOT powered on .if it doest work it needs dji service  hope it works

The Remote control is OK and was updated. My problem is the inspire 1 itself.

Seems that the update was not successful and now it does not update anymore.

I'm really desperate now.

Will make no difference - the ROM in the Inspire and the TX is non volatile. It has to be to store firmware during shutdown.

ROM is nonvolatile BUT the offending code maybe staying in the volatile part...so depleting battery on both TX and Inspire may troubleshoot....interesting to see what happens he is waiting on dji anyway

No, because removing the battery from the Inspire renders zero voltage to it's electctronics and a reboot of  the TX would clear any ram resident code.

I have to agree with markjacobs.

I think that something like the BIN file that resets the ROM on RC and let people to update the RC will be necessary .

Hey im having the same problem. did you find a solution?

I did not read every post but if you are having the same problem as the OP and your hidden files say Device Not Detected on modules 8 and 15 then the firmware update has corrupted your video transmission module and it needs to be sent in for warranty repair.
A few have been able to get it fixed by downgrading/updating a bunch of times.

If you are on 1.6 then just download 1.5 to your computer, unzip the file and put the BIN file on the formatted SD card and put it in the aircraft and power it up and leave the radio OFF. It will take 20-30 minutes so do not power it off while it's updating.
During update you will hear 4 beeps continuously lDDDD, DDDD after a minute or so of power up. Then when it's finished the beeps will be 3 beeps D-DD, D-DD and that means the firmware is finished. You can verify by putting the SD card into the computer and reading the TXT file and scrolling to the bottom.
See if you have video and if not then go back to 1.6 and see if you have video.
AND this is only if it says NO VIDEO, if it says DISCONNECTED then that means the app is not seeing the RC or aircraft and it's the USB cable or USB port.
And this is if the aircraft is connected to the RC, you can verify by seeing if you can control the camera or arm the motors.
Also, whenever you do a firmware change you need to do a IMU, compass, and gimbal calibration.

Here is something else I found you can  try.....
I was having controller issues and DJI service provided me with a new way of pairing the two. I figured I would share it here since I haven't found it anywhere else.

Step 1: Power on Master Remote Controller and Aircraft.
Step 2: Press the Linking button in the nose of the aircraft, as show in the file attached.
Step 3: On the Remote Controller, Press “C1” + “C2” + “Video Record”
Step 4: Then, press the “Camera Settings Dial”. A green indicator light indicates bind is successful.
Here is where I found it:
