Even those cases on the market where you store the inspire 2 in travel mode are just to large in size in order take it as a check in luggage.

At airlines like Lufthansa a piece of luggage must not exceed an all over length of 158 cm meaning the summary of the width height and depth.

So I need to find a solution that I like to share with you today.

I used the original foam case that comes with the I2, disassembled all the fittings and sawtooth off about 15 mmm material all around.

I took the two pieces of foam to a case builder so he would use them as the inlay and he built a nice trolley around.

That's pretty neat.

I paid 450€ which is about 680 CAD

To bad I just sent the case with the I2 for service.

Unfortunately the live preview transmission became totally useless.

With 2 to 3 second freeze frames on my iPad mini2 even when the copter is right next to me.

Nice looking case.  I like the small dimensions a lot too!  

I live in the desert and would have gone with a silver panel instead of black like the Zero Halliburton camera cases to keep the stuff cool.  Stuff bakes out here in black and I've had camera LCD screens go inky black at times until they are cooled down or covered with those silver thermal blankets.

Really neat. I've been thinking about something similar but for quick access and deployment, to store temporarily in the car, so it can be fully operational in seconds. I am going the cardboard way. It would be useless for long trips, but useful for short ones. I am trying to have it sit with the arms in landing position, gimbal mounted and store more batteries. Anyway, good job!

Wow, fantastic work. I was hoping the outter case was available as a standard item for an easy retro.

Jefferey Drone, did you ever try this case or get a response from anyone.  I like the price better than what I've seen on other cases and I think it could work.  Headed from California to Iceland in April and starting to plan my trip, including buying an Inspire 2.

Yes I have made it and have never used it LOL I ended up getting a GPC case over time. otherwise the suitcase case is awesome.
Its yours for $150 if you want to come get it :-)  sorry it took so long to respond back. I guess I better check my settings in here
