I was wondering if I can fly the Mavic Pro in Venice, Pompeii or Sorrento.

You need to research local laws in those areas.

I'm currently here in Italy. Just flew my drone at Positano (away from people, only in the water) From my research I think you can fly at Sorento but not in Venice and Pompei, DJI will let you fly but if the Police catch you, you can get arrested. It is on their no fly zone area. Good luck!

Hi,

Within reason you can fly in Italy.
But within cities it's a no go.

Here you can read some more about the limits https://www.dronezine.it/english/
and the offical guidelines from ENAC can be found here http://uavcoach.com/drone-laws-in-italy/

Oh and please don't think,....i am gonna give it a shot.
Cause there are numerous stories of persons who were caught and got prosecuted.
Security in Italy is also very strict,

@mcflying very true. Btw there are so many police and military all over italy so in case you still decide to fly in places like Venice and pompei be careful. I only flew like 10 mins at Positano because I was scared and also you cant fly above people. The beach was so full. Airline was no problem, they didn't even check my drone.
