Genuine DJI battery (from the Phantom2 kit) swelled up after 6 months of usage and 19 recharges. Phantom start blinking red today after 5 minutes of flight, managed to do emergency landing. Overpriced piece of crap. Shame on you DJI. Don't know what to use now.
No, stored it 50% charged... I have a lot of Canon LP-E6 batteries, which i store always 100% charged, some of them about 3 years and they're working great. I really can't understand why DJI can't make good batteries if others can..
According to the Smart Battery Guide found in the Downloads section.
If stored for more than 7 days, you should discharge to 50%.
Auto-discharge on the new or upgraded firmware batteries kicks in after 10 days if you forget.
Do we have any alternative, guys? ONBO batteries maybe? It's very sad to spend 160 bucks every 6 months. Looks like I'll use with on-camera light swelled up DJI battery.
This batterie Look normal to me, not swelled. With a lipo you have to always bring it to 50%, even when its stored for only two days. A camera batterie dont drain a crazy amount of power like on a quad.
