How do you regain control for flying using the joystick, once the you have used the Ground Station for take-off?  No buttons or movement on either the TX or on the iPad Ground Station seems to let the joysticks take over.

I am assuming you can pass the flight controls to and from the GS software during the flight, correct?

You can flip  the Flight mode switch to atti mode and keep it there or flip it back to gps mode again.  The first switching of Flight mode will stop the GS control of the  craft.
