I'm using a XIAOMI Redmi Note 2 with Android 5.

DJI GO 4.0.5 - works perfectly!

DJI GO 4.0.6 - crashed all the time and forces my phone to reboot mutliple times. Never got this fixed.

DJI GO 4.0.7 - app doesn't crash anymore. But as soon as I start the propellers, my app disconnects from the RC immideatly. After restarting everything I can connect again, but if I start the engine again -> Disconnect.

This is my experience.

If you want to read more about the stability of DJI GO, please check the following threads:

Interesting!
I have the Redmi Note 3 (Android 6) and all was rock stable until yesterday when Redmi did a firmware update. This morning I flew 3 batteries: the last 2 full flights with a black mobile screen: every time I tried to enter dji go 4 and connect to the mavic I was sent back to the home icons of my phone... I still flew but no video!

I still flew but no video!

Hey this is the exact same thing I discovered a few minutes ago! I managed to get 4.0.7 working, at least for one flight.

First of all I have done a clean install of DJI Go 4.0.7. Then I have turned off every data-connection (including WiFi) and switched to Airplane-Mode. I disabled auto-rotation. I disabled "Use cellular data to upload" in DJI Go settings. I disabled audio-recording and local-video-Cache. This was my preflight-setup.

Before I connected my phone, I waited to get the Mavic and paired to the AC and waited for the Ready-to-Fly GPS fix.

With all these steps the app has worked for around 5 minutes. In earlier trys the app has crashed immediatly, so I knew everything must be okay. Then I have tried to figure out which of the above trigger is the root cause of all my problems. Right after I have enabled the WiFi (rest still in Airplane-Mode) the app crashed immediatly and it behave like your description. I could not bring it back to live. I have turned off WiFi again, but the app still crashes. I tried to restart everything - no success, the app keeps crashing. So I had to revert to 4.0.5 to continue flying this evening.

My guess is:
the app checks for newer firmware version or other updates and has downloaded/changed anything in the files which causes the problems. Or it has to do with the map-data which will be downloaded automatically if the app is connected to the internet. This may explain why it keeps crashing after it had a data-connection and then it never come back to live. But before the app ever had a data-connection it runs perfectly stable. I don't know if this is the cause but I think this is close to the solution.

Maybe any moderator (DJI Ken, DJI Natalia, DJI Mindy or DJI Thor) is interested in this? Can you pass this to your dev-team or at least verify this?

Android Moto G 5.01, Galaxy S4,  Nexus 7 II 6.01 - both DJI GO4 4.0.6 and 4.0.7 would not survive until the end of the flight.  On Moto I can restart application and it most of the time could connect back.  On Nexus 7 II - tablet freezes, and goes into reboot.

Was looking at iPad mini2 but decided to try litchi on Nexus 7... Two flights - no reboots.  Looks like 25 bucks for litchi saved me 230 for refurb. iPad mini2.

I'm wondering if DJI would ever fixed application for Android?  I'm professional programmer, also pretty familiar with Android OS, so no, I'm not buying that this is impossible because of lot's of devices... Litchi can work without crashes, so it can be done.

Yes, for me the IOS app was a completely different (read BETTER) flying experience compared to the Android app. You can concentrate on flying and capturing pictures/video instead of regular disconnects and app crashes every few minutes.

You may need to update your poll as i see now that you have IOS listed, as when i did the poll there was no separate option for Apple devices at the time. I selected "Never had an issue" but that should apply in the IOS option now.

I have been trying to install 4.0.7 for the last four days at least.  Everytime I do, it seems to update OK but when I go to fly it does a check again and says inconsistent firmware between aircraft and peripheral devices.  The RC also gives a warning that I am in a NFZ limit.  I am out in remote ooutback of Australia - no airports within 100kms - app crashes within a minute or two of every flight - no video - annoying the hell out of me.  Can't get any work done properly.

To bad i would need to re-post the poll for this changes. I guess that by a few days, it will fit to what i feel already. That the problems are most likely with android only.

Anyone with iOS crashes? Please vote now. :-)

patman89 , I don't know what Android device your using -- I've read on the form here that some people
are using not recommended devices with no problems --- B4 they open the GO4 app
they physically turn there Android phone or tablet to Portrait view then open the GO4
app, enter the Mavic Telemetry screen, then rotate the phone or tablet as you would use
it normally and it won't crash ---- I don't understand it --- maybe worth a try 4 you

Oh yes I have read about this, too.

And I have tried this (forgotten to mention in my last post), maybe this was one of the points why it has worked?! But what the heck is this - you have to hold your phone in the right direction before launching an app to prevent it from crashing? I can not believe this is the solution. I want to have back the stability of v4.0.5 with the upcoming update!

I don't believe it either but some say it works ---- The other solution I read but can't
confirm is -- They put there Android device in Developer Mode and go to I believe
picture pixels ???? or picture view DPI and lower the number to 728 and that worked
for them ---- The problem does have to do with the display settings

Crashes every flight several times during the flight. Using LG V20 on Nougat 7.0, latest Mavic firmware and DJI GO 4.0.7 Terrible experience with the mavic so far. Never had any issues with P3P before I bought the Mavic.

This is exactly what happens to me. Which device (and android version) do you use?

Have you tried to revert to an older version? DJI GO v4.0.5 works fine on my device!

But that pixel thing is only for Galaxy S8+ as far as I know.

Developermode and USB-Degugging didn't change anything. DJI Go 4.0.7 is still unstable on my phone. I hope so much, that this will be fixed with the next update

My problem has been fixed ..... so far
Apparently the Android software had issues, because yesterday i received my new I Phone 6s and downloaded DJI Go 4  and this morning just finished a short but extensive flight with NO ISSUES, no signal loss, no disconnects.... i am a very HAPPY CAMPER!

I suggest that ANYONE who has the loss of signal issue who is using an Android phone or pad, invest in an Apple device, works smooth as silk!

Best wishes and happy flying!

Android it crashes every flight, sometimes multiple times. iOS it never crashes. I wish I could use iOS every time, but using my iPad is sometimes a little cumbersome, but worth it not not have it crash

With that in mind I never ever would buy a DJI CrystalSky tablet which is running the same Android version like my phone - which apparently doesn't work with the current DJI GO app.
