I am take my Phantom 3 Standard on the road to Europe in a couple of months. What will I need to be able to charge the remote and batteries while I'm over there? I understand they use DC rather than AC and the plugs are different than the ones we use here in North America. I'm not sure what I need to buy to make everything work over there. It has to be more than a simple plug adapter, right?

No one uses DC anymore. Most countries are 240 volts AC at 50 Hertz. Your DJI charger can handle that perfectly. All you need is a plug adapter and you can get a universal one at any international airport on the way out.

If all your toys are 110/220 beside the P3 then you only need and international adapter plug.

If any of your equipments are only 110 then you need to get this one:

A car charger may be a good idea if you will be using a car, amazingly that power socket is the same all around the world!  Although some plugs still don't fit in some sockets.

Officially nearly all of Europe uses 230 volts AC with various styles of socket, the actual voltage varies between around 210 and 250 depending on where you are, most power adaptors/chargers will be fine with this if using a suitable socket adaptor, but check what is written on them before plugging in.

Most important, bring with you a good understanding of the various rules / laws about drones in the different European countries...

Where in Europe will you be?

I will not actually be on the European continent, I will be in the islands of the Azores in the middle of the Atlantic which belong to Portugal.

You will probably find "interesting" winds there

...and apparently he doesn't follow the rules of the countries he visits and complains a lot when he's caught...
