I wanted to fly a programmed Ground Station (app) mission starting on the deck behind my house. The problem was I had no GPS signal there because the deck sits between my house an a hill with trees at the top. At first I thought this would not be possible. But...what I did was take the Phantom up above my house and trees in ATTI mode and hover there until I got enough satellites to get a GPS lock. At that point I manually set the home point with the S2 switch and landed. I then set up the waypoints for the mission. I took the Phantom back to where I could get a GPS lock again and started the mission. It worked perfectly and when it came back to the home point I took control and landed. Does anyone see any issues with flying missions in this manner? Thanks.
