Pretty basic question, I know I read it in the manual or somewhere on the forum.
But, how do you take control of our bird after you've initiated Return Home??

Pretty sure you just press it again.   Also, during RTH I think you can still adjust the height with the stick to avoid obstacles.

No personal experience with this so just going off memory of what I read somewhere!

Jim's right on!  Hit RTh button again to regain control!

Being able to adjust height during RTh would be cool so wanna test that out

Try it in the simulator, its a good way to see how the bird reacts to the sticks

Does return to home work when you have a GPS connection loss? Or is it only when you have GPS? I lost GPS signal and was instructed to turn aircraft to ATTI, which I did. The wind was fairly strong and the aircraft was drifting fast so I thought I would try the return to home button but it didn't seem to function. The app said the return to home was set and I chose a location. I ended up flying it back, no problem really but..... GPS signal returned after it was maybe 30 feet out and 15 feet off the deck.

By the way Dundee I managed to get both remotes to take the update using the voodoo file followed by the .17 bin using the gimbal technique. Pretty exciting!!

IOS only as android doesn't have the simulator
Dundee is right on!! RTH works perfectly thru the simulator funny that's where I noticed how touchy the throttle sticks where on this bird, and I bet 50% of the issues at first where pilots using that throttle stick a bit too gingerly.
Im sure you all noticed how quickly one can kill the motors if not careful .The aircraft does the same in flight ..
Bet money if you dead stop the motors in flight while in free fall for what ever period of time I bet that's when prop failure really comes into play. Things that make yah go hmmmmmm??

I should say so. I really believe his contribution should not go unnoticed by DJI.

Yeah, very different fly characteristics when in RTH.
I guess less than 50%,  flies a bit like a lame bird, but yes, this allows you
to correct the path when flying in RTH mode. (i like it)
And yes, correct you are Angus, for those noobies, be carefull with that CSC move.

You can not recover from a CSC !!!!
(I can't anyway, can you ? If so, show me how)

And in no way Im gonna try a dead stick free fall ,and re fire the motors....Only free fall for me would be off a bar stool...lol
Nail hit oh so home on this one as a tender touch is most required on the throttle when descending..Wonder how many dropped like a bag of laundry wondering what happened...I know we read a few here in a sense it thins out the herd a bit.
Lets light this candle! Here's to safe flying, and due diligence!
Bravo Gents !!

Hi Dangair,

I do not believe that that the RTH works with a lost GPS signal: the I1 has recorded the RTH coordinates at take off time but it does not know its present position and thus it has no navigation data available to return to the RTH point.

Good flights!

I would have to agree with Mail on this...The saved "HOME" position is just a set of coordinates.   I would not think there would be anyway for RTH to work without a GPS lock.  The flight controller needs a GPS signal to get the coordinates, so with out GPS the controller doesn't know where it is, or where it needs to go.

I pressed the RTH button once and the Inspire still allows me to control it if it approaches an obstacle.
