I am going on a camping trip next month and will be taking my P3A with me to do some flying. The place I will be camping at is really off the grid, no cell service, no wifi, and I am wondering how I will fare without a connection. Are there any steps I should take to prepare to be offline? Will my map work on my iPad while flying? The drone has GPS so RTH should still work right? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

RTH will work. Usually you can cache the map in advance by looking at the area you are going to before leaving your wifi area.

You will need to preload your maps

No problem. Before you leave, cache the maps you will need while at home and hooked to the internet with your ipad. Cache at several zoom levels. I open up dji app and let the maps load of the area I'm going to. Hope this helps.

Even if you have no maps it won't make much difference.
Do people really use the map that much?
I think I've used it twice in three years.

Like others have mentioned, you can cache the maps on the Go app when you move the map in the app to where you will be flying and let the map load when you're connected to the internet. You are correct that RTH would still work. Have fun!

Event if that worse case scenario happens, there's still plenty of data that's stored during the flight via the Go app to be able to evaluate warranty claims from it.

i fly without wifi all the time, no impact, if u do not care to have the maps detail - all u will have is your flight path.. No biggie in general.
