You wouldn't believe that was a colliery and industrial wasteland 20-30yrs ago! Penshaw monument looks quite good from up in the air - always wanted to go up inside it and walk around the top, but it's so rarely opened up these days

Very cool.. This one was better.. I really enjoyed some of the footage.. especially flying through the pillars.

Lovely video!  I like the way all your turns etc are very smooth, makes for easy watching.   As I saw Penshaw Monument come into view I realised you're up near me!  I live in the North East, Billingham, and have filmed Penshaw at least once with my P4, looking for an excuse to go back up since I got my Inspire 1.

I've lived in the North East all my life and have never known Penshaw to be closed.  Just lucky I guess?

Penshaw monument I tself is always open, the pillar access to the roof parapet is only open intermittently. If you look on the second video, you'll spot one of the hatches.
