This just happened to me. When I pull the left stick all the way down before the shut off notch the motors stop. I have to be extra careful when I descent not to kill the motors. Can't pull all the way down on the stick. Is there an adjustment to the stick so I can feel safe when I descend? This just happened when I did the update 3 days ago. I am flying a PV2+ V3.

No. I was in the house and started the motors and was playing around with the throttle and did a mock descend when all of a sudden the motors stopped. Did a couple of times and the same thing. Took it out today and was scared to sh??.

It will shut off if you are not descending, that is a normal shut down when you land.  If you were actually in the air and coming down, you can lock the throttle in the down position and it will not shut off.  The emergency shutoff if you are in the air is BOTH sticks down and to the center.  That will shut them down immediately whether you are descending or not.

You were just sitting on the desk not moving, the down throttle will shut it down after 3 seconds.

I have not had that happen.  When I was testing the V2 Tx I lowered the throttle until it clicked into the indent and allowed the Phantom to basically auto land.  It never occurred to me to try and descend with the throttle at near zero, I was either manually descending or "auto landing".  I will bring it up to DJI for review.

Ed, reread his post,  he was doing a simulated descent.  The Phantom was running while it was sitting on his desk.  At no time was he ever descending or in the air.

I understand what you are saying, but I didn't lock the stick. I pulled down before the lock out to shut the motors. You said to that if you are in the air flying, you can lock the stick down and it won't shut off the motors. If true I didn't know that.

That lock is just a little piece of plastic attached to the underside of the throttle stick, not very precise.

Than you very much. It was a shocker to me when this happened. I am aware of the lock position to shut the motors off and I was pulling down on the stick just before the lock and all of a sudden the motors stopped. I thought I was going nuts so I tried it again and yes they shut down on full descent.

Even if you pushed it past the lock, as long as you are still descending it will not shut the motors off,  You can remove the lock if you desire, I have 1 photo of the plastic lock.  It is held by 2 screws.  Let me find it and I"ll post it.

Ok, maybe it's just me so pardon me getting clarification.   Was it in the air with the left stick just above the lock down position or was it sitting on your desk.  I see different people replying differntly.  If I'm reading it wrong I apologize I'm on my phone atm.

If it was in the air coming down, it would not shut down the motors until after it landed and stopped descent for 3 seconds.  If it was sitting on the desk, it will shut down the motors after 3 seconds because is senses it is not coming down.

Then it was stationary and it would have shut down because the barometric pressure gauge is not sensing a change in air pressure.  That is the normal way to shut down after landing.

Correct, as long as you are in the air it will not shut down,  It will descend when you move the stick down, it will only shut off the motors after you stop the downward descent and land.

Just throwing this out there as it deserves mentioning over and over for us newer pilots, when in the air, DO NOT bring both sticks in and down toward the center unless you are trying to put a new hole in the ground.  This will kill the motors while in flight.

One more thing to mention to all.
I updated to 3.12 and had a little problem with the gimbal but I did a recal. on the controller and all is fine. Had no problems as of now and don't expect to have any.

You don't do enough probing questions to see exactly what the difficulty is.  I worked over the phone tech support for Comcast internet for 1 year,  Sirius satellite radio for 2 years and TomTom GPS equipment for one year before I was burned out.

I do wonder how accurate the barometric sensor is? If it is relied on to sense the difference between say 6 feet and 0 feet. What is the difference in pressure?

I can hear you from here Gerry "Oh No here he goes again, Not the PDOP TDOP saga again" No my passion is not the same as it was or I am more accepting of the Phantoms good points along with its bad. Having said that I would love to be sitting in on the Think Tank meetings with you, Rod, Nix etc throwing ideas questions etc. Wouldn't that be fun!!!

I have the old Tom Tom One which I use to check satellites in the preferences.

Also use Tom Tom App on my iPhone and iPad.

I reckon Tom Tom is the best?
