After owing it for a week I have flow my Phantom 2V+, 5 times now with no issues. After completing a upgrade to firmware V3.12 while connected to PT2 assistant, a notice appeared on screen that a advanced IMU calibration is required. I tried but failed to calibrate, I ignored the too hot message. It still wouldn't calibrate. I tried a short low flight hoping to reset any glitches only to discover that the gimbal does not tilt up or down with the dial. The gimbal does work though just no control from the controller. I have calibrated the controller in RC assistant and in vision assistant.
Any help from the experts would be appreciated.

Did you calibrate the x1 in pt2 and did you also select "upgrade version" on the same calibration page?

Your transmitter camera wheel will not move the camera?

First, check the small icon on your phone app and make sure it is not on.  It is just above the up/down arrows on the app for the camera.
With the gyroscope on, you can move the camera by tilting the phone.

Set the Phantom on a level surface not close to any metal. What are your 3 mod numbers for the IMU.  the third number in each row.  The controller will beep if it hasn't been moved for 10 or 15 minutes.

Those numbers are very good, you don't need to calibrate the IMU.  Take your props off, try to start the motors with the transmitter.

Yes, I can start the props and fly the Phantom, it seems unstable in hover. It tends to drift.

Are you flying in Phantom mode or NAZA mode and how many satellites are you getting?

did you do the "compass dance" before you take off?
How far does it drift?

thanks Gerry, I did the dance and it seemed that it would drift by approx. 2-3 meters (6.5-9.8ft). I will recharge my batts and power down and try again in a couple of hours. see how it goes.

Just do the regular calibration and not the advanced IMU calibration, then see if that helps.  It's 3 am here let me know the outcome tomorrow.

I reinstalled the firmware and did the advanced IMU calibration with success. I also recalibrated the controller in both the RC assistant and PT assistant. Everything works perfectly, hopefully put the bird in the air tomorrow.
Thanks for the help.
