Colombia does not have any restrictions to flying drones, just make sure to follow same rules to stay away from airports and fly below 100 M to avoid any possible collision with other commercial planes/heli. Fly safe and be smart of where you fly from. if you are flying in the mountains remember to set your RTH altitude accordingly as you might lose signal easier.  what part of Colombia are you traveling too?

Hi, Thanks for the thread.  I'm going there in August.  How did you make out flying your drone?  Any problems thru and from customs?

Did flew a drone there, they don't care. Only in some national parks it's forbidden.
But actually they have a drone law that is very strict. It's almost impossible to flew by the rules over there.
But like I said, they don't care :-)
Medellin, i'm not sure it's really safe to fly there...
But on the airport or customs there isn't a problem at all...

Definitey you've never been to South America... otherwise you wouldn't be so prejudiced... and you would know that in South America you have wonderful and perfectly safe places to fly your drone. We have our problems, and so do the US... I've never been mugged in Brazil but I did have my rental car broken in Florida... I guess you shoul be more respectful when talking about other people countries. If you come to Brazil you will be very well treated, and I can educate you on where is safe or not to fly your quad... the same way I learned where not to park my car in the US...
Take care...

Lived amd worked in Medellin '99-2001 beautiful safe city! my wife is from Medellin we'll be travelling there in August our advice "No Dar Papaya" don't put yourself in a position where people can easily take advantage of you”. just like any other place in the world. I grew up in Los Angeles inner city "Watts" and I won't fly my drone in certain parts of the hood, do some research possibly hire a tour guide and use common sense. Good Luck and take some SIC shots of the Eternal Spring City!

As few other stated when it comes to Colombia, there are tons of restrictions and regulation as far as what could be imported in. Better to check with before doing so. See below all the restriction https://usgshipping.com/shipping-to-central-and-south-america/shipping-to-south-america/shipping-to-colombia-from-usa

Items could be seized by Colombian Customs and importer get penalized .
