Is the 3.1.11 go app safe? Anyone having crashes, communication issues etc.?

My Osmo has been useless since this update, absolutely beyond useable, and reading the Google store feedback it seems it a widespread issue, can someone please clarify what's going on? I'm using Huawei p9 which has worked ok till now..
