We were fortunate to have the sky clear long enough to capture the April 8th Eclipse from central Texas. I sent the Mini 4 Pro up to capture a full pano with great results.
We sent the little drone up to 390 feet and manually set the exposure based of my EV meter readings from the ground to capture the colors we were seeing around us during totality. The results were spot on! The image clearity even captured Venus and Jupiter.

Surprised by the choice of Mini 4 for shooting the eclipse...
I have already written about this.

I have already written about this.

It was the only drone that had the ability to tilt the stabilized camera over 80 degrees to capture the eclipse that was almost directly overhead and provide a full 360 degrees panographic sphere.

The 360 degree panorama didn't make sense. Any smartphone would take better photos...

Not from an altitude of over 300 feet, getting a full view of what was happening to the world in the shadow of the eclipse.

A smart phone would not get a 360 view of a sunset/sunrise, or see all of the lights of a town all lit up in an isolated location.

Yes, it was surreal to see and feel it. It was also the way the colors popped out in the shadow of the moon and the light that leaked in around from the boundary.

I still remember the eclipse I experienced on August 11, 1999, unfortunately it was very cloudy that day. But the nature's silence and the dimmed light were impressive as well.

Before the the eclipse started (C1), we had Grackles, Swallows and Mockingbirds, singing and chattering. But when The eclipse was entering totality (C2), the birds freaked out and then quieted down. During totality, the crazy Mockingbird was the only character that was still singing. It was funny that we didn't notice it, it was quiet to us., it was after reviewing the videos did we notice what was really happening.

Reminds me of To Kill a Mockingbird. Great one! Finally saw it.

Awesome.
I don't understand why it defaults to opening the URL in the post, instead of opening it in a new window?!

Thank you.
I planned 3 different shots, and this was the MOST important one.
My wife and I missed two totals due to weather and we lucked out on this one.
When the next one comes around, we'll be in our 80's and 90's.   So, it very well could be our once in a life time experience.
