Hi DJI-Ken.
iPad Air 2.
DJI Go app says "No Signal" but the rest of the telemetry seem to be there. Shots taken with the camera are blank - well actuall a grey graduation from top to bottom.

The stock DJI props that come with the P3 do not need balancing in my eyes. I've had several multi ...
Bzzzzzzzzt Wrong. I have purchased many sets of props, my Son being an aircraft engineer makes me throw them away periodically and checks the balance of each prop when they arrive. Over half the props arrive with small to medium out of balance with a few with severe out of balance. It makes absolutely no sense to not check them, all you can do is make them better. As I have said before answer yes or no to these questions:
1. Would you drive a car with new tyres/wheels that had not been balanced?2. After use do you tyres go out of balance?
3. Would you get into a plane that had an un-balanced prop?
its very easy to do and makes sure your props are balanced and will not cause issues. We re-check our props after several flights as they change with use. Its foolish to ignore such a simple task. I wonder why with hundereds of flights and tons of hours of use, we have no issues at all with the Phantom 3, you think maybe the pre-flights checks and tests may have something to do with that huh?
Just a thought, but do you know if the firmware on the main board is responsible for changing phases in the motor supply? Isn't it feasible these could be out of sync across the 4 motors causing an imbalance?
Question for anyone who can help. I just bought the Phantom 3 Pro a couple weeks ago and took it out of the box yesterday. I charged everything up and turned it on and everything linked up fine, the controller, etc...except for a live feed from the camera. I read some forums and thought maybe the issue would be cleared up with the firmware upgrade. I tried to upgrade the Phantom and it seemed to work ok as it ran the upgrade for about 20 minutes, but then all I got was a loud continuos beep with yellow flashing lights. I checked the SD card and it said upgrade failed and try again. I tried it again and it seems to start the upgrade but goes back to the loud continuous beep with flashing lights. The light on the gimbal shows solid red. I have tried several times but get the same results. When I reconnect with the DJI app it says my firmware is the latest though, even though I have never had a text file stating the upgrade was successful. Anyone experience anything like this? I am also still having the issue with the no signal from the camera. I can take pictures and video but the live image does not show up. I tried using a Samsung Galaxy S5 and my Tab 4. Both run the app fine, but no picture from camera. Any ideas or help is appreciated. I am thinking I need to return the unit and get a new one, but hope there is something I am missing.
Check this video out regarding adjusting gain values
At 5:03 you can see the type of vibration we're seeing, albeit in a different axis. This is not caused by out of balance props, it's caused in software. This also agrees with the type of adjustments being used which are making differences i.e. gain values in yaw control.
Whilst I agree the system will always benefit from having the props balanced more accurately (hence I'm happy to buy a balancer & use it), it's not the only cause for vibration.
My Phantom 3 and about 30 others that I have flown all never had balanced props and the video is super smooth. Yes, I agree that perfectly balanced will make a slight difference but not enough to make much of a difference.
Like I said earlier, I used to balance every prop from every multirotor I had, then after getting the P3 I have not done it. Over 275 flights and not a single issue, But that's just my opinion.
If I had a balancer and wanted to spend the time balancing them then I probably would.
And I know plenty about pre-flight, I've been a private pilot for over 20 years.
After 1.6 firmware upgrade i have no video on my ipad 2 air and 2.4.3 i ...
The more and more I dig on the internet the only thing I see is try to uninstall the DJI app and reboot tablet/phone and then reinstall app. Then reconnect controller to aircraft. I plan to try that tonight, but this still won't fix the firmware update failure I keep getting.
Update: tried all the above, still no video...still could not get a txt file saying upgrade was successful.
"I too am experiencing problems after upgrading to firmware version 1.6.
1.) My iPad2 Mini is loosing signal every few seconds.
2.) The video signal is choppy and flickers.
I have down graded to version 1.5 and then tried to upgrade to 1.6 again and this did not resolve the issue.
I had never experienced this prior to either the firmware version 1.6 or the DJI go App 2.4 upgrades.
Please advise if there are other possible fixes that I could try.
Thanks
- Should I try and reinstall the firmware 1.6?
- Should I also try and reinstall the DJI Go App too?
It sounds like I am having the same issues as others posting here also.
Thank you
Hi, I just update the firmware on aircraft. But, on GO APP update was FAILED. Than I try again, and again FAILED. And now RC light is blue and no connection with P3pro.
What to do???
Thanks
Well, according to DJI John "Try is a few more times, if it does not work then you need to send it in for warranty repair."
I sure as hell hope that is not the case, because DJI will be getting hundreds of Phantom 3s turning up for repair as I'm seeing posts everywhere with people having the same issue.
Come on DJI, sort this out! Many many unhappy customers who forked out the cash for a P3, tried to update to YOUR Firmware that YOU prompted everyone to update to only to have it cause this issue.
I urge any lurkers with the same problem to sign up here - only takes a moment - and speak up if you too have this problem. Maybe then DJI WILL SORT THIS OUT!!!!!
Sorry for the Newbie question, but I am heading out to the desert tomorrow (first flight day) and will not have time to do this update. I assume the AC will fly OK pending this update?
I should make it a mandatory rule for myself to always READ THE FORUMS before performing any firmware updates on my DJIP3P. Its been about 45 minutes and the update is still going so I'm worried this is going to end up as a failed attempt. In previous firmware updates it only took 30-40 minutes. This is the longest its taken. Ughhhh.
I can't believe DJI hasn't pulled the firmware from it's site. They know there are problems for some, that at this stage will require returning the P3P for repair, yet they leave it up there for more unsuspecting beta testers. Not good enough.
Hi, i still experiencing gimbal vibration, a new tilted horizon, some random no signal. Phantom 3 professional on iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6. No way to fix after cold calibration of everything, app uninstall reinstall, Rc linking and first born son sacrifice to God..
Oh really? How is that then? Me and many others have had major issues after updating with P3s that were working fine until the update - what else could have caused this then? Let me guess, yours is working fine? What if it wasn't, like many others? Would you blame the FW then?

I bought my Advanced 3 days ago and updated in accordance with the instructions in the box. Had four flights so far and all has been fine. Now I have lost video signal and apart from a momentary and intermittent video signal on start up, I have 'No Signal'. The thing flies OK otherwise. As I mention in another thread, I note than when connecting my PC to the camera USB the link is dropping in and out continuously, which also makes me wonder if that is why people are having problems changing the firmware.
Unless somebody comes up with a miracle fix I'll be returning this to the retailer tomorrow as not fit for purpose.
I went through the entire process last night of trying to downgrade the firmware. Tried every packet from 1.03 thru 1.05 and nothing worked. I also tried to rerun 1.06 several times still with no success. Apparently the machine is doing some updating because the app told me one of my batteries needed the firmware upgraded and that issue went away after trying the 1.06. Overall though I still have never been able to complete one successful firmware update. According to the log file, it shows the upgrade running and then failing due to version check. The app says I have the most current firmware though. Even with that said I still do not have a video feed. I tried relinking the RC to the craft a couple times, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, nothing fixed the issue. I called my dealer and they said they would exchange this with unit for another new one, so I think this is my best bet for now. I don't want to wait three weeks or more for warranty service. Hopefully the new one won't have the same issues. I will post the results after I get it set up.

To those that are still having an issue updating firmware, here is an update video
And to dive into it further, here is a thread from a big DJI contributor and explains in detail about updating and issues if it will not update.http://forum.dji.com/thread-37122-1-1.html
Most all the issues can be resolved by all the tips listed in this thread, if nothing else works are your TXT file says DEVICE NOT DETECTED in the TXT file as shown below then your aircraft will have to come in for warranty repair. You can go to the support page of DJI.com and start a RMA process. The syntom of the "Device Not Detected" wil be no video signal at all, if you have some video, shaky video, app quits, and so on then it is a different issue from this one and yuo should be able to get everything going without having to send in your aircraft.
I live in the cold climate so I thought I have to do the firmware update it took me several days to finally get the aircraft to take the firmware I finally downgraded it and then upgraded to the 1.6 I did notice the file name changed from the 22nd to the 27th of December however once I got the 1.6 download I've been flying in negative degree weather without any issues. I have not used iOS after downgrade i am using samsung galaxy no issues with video.
John, you said you had no video as soon as you powered it up after opening the box from it being new. That's very strange, The few cases here are from when doing the update.
Please post a copy of your logs and if you see the same module 8 and 15 "Device Not Detected" then you will need to send it in for warranty repair.
Since I will not be flying until warmer weather gets here maybe a new upgrade will be out that is more stable. Not saying the newest one isn't but why take a chance. Mine is doing good with the prior update.
