I don't mind my money gone, since I'd have paid it in full anyway if I had the drone in hand, but playing devil's advocate here:
Not everyone puts their money into a savings account. In fact, anyone who knows a damn thing about money knows that you actually LOSE money on savings accounts (sometimes due to fees, sometimes due to inflation, sometimes due to restrictions on transfers, etc).
In fact, if I hadn't given DJI my $1400, it would be invested in one of my many investment accounts -- either for day trading, long term investments, retirement accounts, or either one of my kids' education investment accounts. All of which produce way more than 0.3%. I could make $300+ on that $1400 day trading in 1 month no problem. I usually get 10-60% in one year on my investments (even my long term stuff). That's not chump change.
But, all that said, I'm happy to support DJI as I like their products. This will be my 3rd drone (I have an Inspire v1.0 and an Inspire v2.0). I would like to see them give us a reasonable answer (I still suspect it's a trademark or legal issue, or perhaps a significant issue on the hardware) ... and I certainly believe we all deserve one. I'm sure DJI corporate will wise up sooner than later. Happy customers are long term customers. I'm sure they all want us to buy the R/C buggy/car coming out soon, or the Inspire 2, or the R/C boat or submarine. They need trust to stay a leader in this competitive market.
I won't be canceling my order. |
