My latest edit – We had our Facebook Drone meet-up and we went to this killer place (info below) and I was able to capture some great footage! Let me know what you think and make sure you watch in HD!
Mallows Bay boasts a diverse collection of nearly 200 known historic shipwrecks dating back to the Civil War, as well as archaeological artifacts dating back 12,000 years. The area is most renowned for the remains of more than 100 wooden steamships, known as the "Ghost Fleet," which were built for the U.S. Emergency Fleet between 1917-1919 as part of America’s engagement in World War I and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Their construction at more than 40 shipyards in 17 states reflected the massive national wartime effort that drove the expansion and economic development of communities and related maritime service industries.

Going to have to place this one on my list to see. Thanks for posting it. Any issues with people or the airspace there?
Nope, the park ranger came by and spoke with us, offered a better place to take-off. Was really, really cool.

Really? That's pretty cool. There's a sign that forbids a bunch of things, including flying model airplanes. Of course airplanes can't hover and I'd offer they're inherently more dangerous than quads, but that's good to hear.

Yeah, he came over and looked at our stuff, asked questions, etc. He said last week someone from California came by with over $3k of camera equipment to shoot. I think they get a lot of people...heck, we had about 15 people in our group.

Thanks for the comments! I used a Taco-Rc nd16 filter. It was great weather, except, at times was WINDY!

Yessir attended '90-'92 and got THE U inked on my shoulder LOL Big fan of course. Now... you are one of my favorite droners . Keep up the good work
HAHAHA - I also have ink on my shoulder!!! It has the the old school Ibis with the pipe and all the national championship dates under him!!!!!
Is this the place across from Quantico? Looks like it's in a litter of controlled airspace if it is. Hopefully you secured all the right permissions so as to be a positive ambassador for the droning community.
