Hello All,

Just curious, does the Mavic 3 E series know or have the ability to read head and tail winds.  The RC pro pilot 2 screen has that indicater line along the top that show live battery power status.  It also shows warning and critical marks along the line, either yellow or red and those seem to fluctuate from time to time during flight.

So is there an anenometer built intp the drone?

Regards

David

The drone measures wind and direction, by comparing tilt and roll angles and ground speed against what they would be if the drone was flying in still air.

So in an automated RTH scenerio where the drone decides that it has reached a critical battery limit and needs to do an RTH.  But based on your answer, it cannot factor in a headwind in this scenerio, correct?

In the past, it was clear that the wind was not factored into the time that the drone would recommend coming home.
Lately I've been wondering if that might have changed.
But if you are going to be facing a headwind for your return flight, it's best to be on top of the situation and allow for the slower flight, or increased battery usage coming back.

Trying to find an example of head tail wind calculation.

Had a flight (lots of wind), flying away with tail wind (on purpose) and at about 70% RTH battery.
Uh, yes bc flying into the wind back home....uses lot of battery to reach home.

So i think DJI changed this to to better.

When it is real windy again here i will test this again.

cheers
