DJI needs to pull this FW update until the issues are fixed.  They aren't even acknowledging it is causing issues.  Seems there way of writing off the MA2.

I am not saying that there are many of these blocked drones, but there will not be a few. This is just the tip of the iceberg. IMHO.
I just found out that there is another update after 12.00. Apparently a repair shop. But I can't get to her because the drone is blocked.

The last two updates made my Air 2 not RTH unless its night time and now it thinks that its going to run into the sun so it climbs to the upper limit I have programmed (then hovers till the battery dies).  Maybe this update fixes some of that?  I want to try to update but at the same time am really afraid to try.  Anyone notice any difference in obstacle detection in this firmware?

Thank you for the info.  I used to love this drone till they went and broke it.  I really wish I could restore to when it was new out of the box, before any updates.  It just worked.....and it worked awesome.

One of my counter parts called DFJ Support and they told him he was on the wrong firmware version.  He is on the current one shown to be released 12/29/2022.  They told him the most current version was v01.01.09.20, which was released back in July.  Support reffered him to https://www.dji.com/downloads/products/mavic-air-2.  If you scroll down and look at the latest release notes, it does show the July release as being the latest one.  So communicating with Support does no good, since they aren't even updated on the latest releases.

When I use my phone via the RC, it makes it to 78% and wont make it further. Any help? DJI said to send it in but there has to be an easier fix than that. Thank you in advance!

air2 happened to me too, new from firmware V01.00.0250 to fimware V01.01.1200, the process with dji assistant reaches 99% and it stops, I tried from the remote control and it reached 63% and it stopped

I have the same problem... Have you found any solutions?, I simply cannot update my Mavic Air 2... not by using an android cellphone, an Ipad or my PC... can someone help me out???, I'll really appreciate it...

the only solution I have found is to send the mavic air2 to dji, I was asked to send them the log of the drone, but then I decided to send it to them anyway, it is certainly a problem with the new firmware on this drone which does not manages to update when it has older firmware on board. the older is V01.00.0250

for me the simple solution is to ship them, mine was under warranty activated in October, not even 5 minutes of flight did! this is not good for DJI

I bought an older one under warranty. I'm definitely not going to send it to China, I'd rather throw it in the trash.
I had an older update there, 0130, but I didn't know it before. I didn't know it was important. I heard that DJI has bad guys for updates, but... I had no idea it was that bad.
My next drone will definitely not be a DJI. I can throw money out the window in a smarter way.

I've been looking at DJI's poor customer support for several days.
My Mavic Air 2 has been DEAD for days, yes exactly since the update v01.01.1200, which DJI is passing on to satisfied users as it looks untested and immature, and which now
destroys the well-functioning Mavic Air 2 drones when the firmware is executed.

And DJI shows no reaction to check the defective firmware, stop it and provide customers with assistance so that their drones do what they are supposed to do again!

A drone that doesn't fly is just a very expensive brick.

Why is an update not correctly checked for functionality before it is passed on to customers?
(Internet download stops at 99%, App firmware update stops at 87%………….. DJI you can’t do that!)
Why isn't firmware v01.01.1200 immediately stopped for bugs that customers have been complaining about for days?
Why isn't DJI able to downgrade the Mavic Air 2 again so that the drone can be used again without problems? For other models, the previous firmware is also displayed, just not for the Mavic Air 2.

Such a massive firmware error normally has to be fixed within 24 hours!!!

I'm absolutely disappointed with DJI, ultimatum if the MA2 still doesn't work in a week then the drone will make its last flight, in the dustbin and besides, I'm done with DJI!
I will not buy any more DJI products and DJI has lost a good customer.

DJI MAVIC AIR 2 ……………….. “Up your skills”, ….yes as an expensive paperweight!

They absolutely need to give us the ability to either roll back to an earlier functional firmware or reset to factory defaults (including firmware)  Anything else is just unprofessional.

Yes? How slow is it moving? 20x charged battery could be enough? He tried it so many times, at least.

Trying update with DJI Fly I got additionally error id 0x11010530139b .


The best is that I've just unpacked it - my Christmass gift .

If you should have installed the firmware v01.01.1200, then unfortunately your drone is dead.
My MA2 is scrap too.
Customers have been scrapping their MA2 for days and DJI doesn't care, there's no reaction.

It seems like DJI doesn't care about Mavic Air 2, they only care about the Air 2S now...
So sad.
I didn't update luckily, so my drone is still working, but WHY does DJI not fix this, it is a CRITICAL issue!!

Looks like it bricked my controller. As soon as it was done it stopped working. Had a full charge. Now no lights, nothing.

Sorry to bother... but it's quite visible that, worldwide, there's a huge problem about that last firmware actualization for the Mavic Air 2...
More than a week has passed and it seems it has not been solved yet...
What's going to happen now?, is ti anyway DJI could help us out?

I attempted to update firmware on my Mavic Air 2 and were unsuccessfully. I attempted the following;

DJI Fly only loads till 87%
-Restarted device, app and controller
- still not able to install
-Cleared app, controler and aircraft cache

DJI assistant 2 only loads till 57%
- Installed and reinstalled the assistant
-  Used different cables
-Cleared all photos and videos from the drone memory
- Deactivated Anti Virus

Drone is now unable to fly, I first got ESC error and now takeoff failed restart aircraft.

I already depleted 4 batteries attempting to do the update. There are no options to downgrade to previous versions and the drone is not able to fly as is.

Do not update to this application under any circumstances!!!! Your drone will kill you.
It doesn't complete the update via FLY, it stayed at 63% until the full battery was completely discharged.
DJI Assistant is dead: Download finished at 99%. Reset and return to the previous firmware version is impossible.

Did you solve? I'm having the same problem here...

We all have this problem. 10 days already. We are waiting for now.
We have no information from DJI. For now, you can send LOGS or SCREEN errors to administrators. That's all that can be done.

Come on, admit you made a mistake and fix it, don't try to make it seem like it's your customers who made the mistake.
Release a new firmware that fixes this, and let us update. It's not that hard!

Oh, what's that, you don't care about the Mavic Air 2, do you? You want people to upgrade to Air 2S? Well, at least provide a usable experience to the Mavic Air 2, and at least add waypoints and cruise control to Air 2S and Air 2.

Look, I'm a software developer myself, and I know it's easy to make mistakes like this in code or mess up server configs to the firmware doesn't download properly, but let me ask you this, do you even TEST your software?? Have you tried to update at least a couple drones with the firmware before pushing it to release?? I bet you didn't.

I could believe if some small company did that, but DJI? The software instability got worse and worse over the years, for example DJI Fly releases some were buggy as hell, but it's the first time that you brick an Air 2 with a firmware. This all could be avoided by just simply testing your software.

To people that have their drones broken, contact DJI directly informing about the issue, using the chat or phone.
I haven't done so because I luckily avoided this by not updating the firmware.

As a  result if the aforementioned the drone is unable to fly at all now.

Tried again with some other tricks that specialists gave me but, still, nothing new...
Really hope they come up with something!

Hello, while reading the comments I had a stroke of stress, I did the update and it settled correctly, in my area it rains but I still just tested the drone and everything seems to work properly for now

I apologize for my bad english. After reading about problems with the update, I decided to do it. The video shows the drone restarting 3 times before it finishes. The remote control and battery are also updated. I did a test flight today and so far everything seems fine.

We also did the update, everyone writes about it here, we know how to do the update, there are a million instructions on the net.

I just want to help. We all knew there was a problem. I was also hesitant to install the new firmware. And many people are still hesitant. It's strange why for some the update is successful and for others not. Everyone assesses their own risk. I hope DJI fix the problem soon.

Have You found any changes with new fw.? Changelog for new fw. is very poor (optimized user experience)...
