Interestingly the issue is exactly the same as mine. I have P3 Standard with the latest version. The mobile device i used is an Asus Zenfone2 and Samsung S4 both of which do work but the main issue is the range. I'm limited to a 167 meters max.

I also do not lose video feed rather ONLY the controls.

I tried isolating the issue by putting the phone on airplane mode to no improvement. I tried not clipping the phone to the controller still no improvements. I tried different directions to no help.

The only thing changed for me was upgrading the firmware. That's when I started having the issue.

I also don't loose video on the phone. I still get great GPS signal. I just loose controller signal.

Tried to fly it tonight and if i have it just fly straight up to 30 m it will lose signal every time.

They need to fix this issue fast!!!!

As Blade states, you want the Antennas straight up. Antennas are polarized. That is, your Antennas on the Phantom are vertical and the Antennas on the Controller should be vertical.

Did that. Still same problem. I still get good WIFI signal and GPS signal, up to 12 sates. It's the controller signal I lose after 70-75ft.

Nope!!! Double checked that to make sure. Even if it was, I wouldn't lose controller signal. It would just stop and remind me that I have reached my limit.

I am thinking the Controller from reading some past posts. The only thing is that if you take it apart the Warranty goes "POOF" Do you have the Height and Distance set for what you want in the Pilot Program? Did you try "Airplane Mode" on your smart device? I found that one the hard way. I was near a Cell Tower (about a half mile away) and it cut my range in half. I entered Airplane Mode and the Phantom went back to normal at the same spot.

I would doubt it very much. This is communication from and to Remote-Control and Aircraft, only.
Lightbridge is not a concern either. Channels selections could be a problem thought.

The antenna should be PARALLEL to the P3.  Radiation is out the flat side of the blade.

Correct with a question. There is always a sweet spot (larger lobe) on any antenna. I am going to dissect a DJI Antenna to see what they are doing. There may be a better flat side then again maybe not. I will know when I take one apart. I hope I am wrong because I don't know how one would determine one side from the other without destroying it.

What is the signal strength in the main window of the Go Program. Poor, Good, Excellent??

120 meters is only 393.7008ft. The P3S can fly up to .6 miles.

Oh, my bad. No, it wont get that far. It will only get about 75ft.

That is an issue that DJI is addressing. They will have a fix soon. I think that it is related to having the beginner mode in the program. The beginner mode limits distance and height.
