I never got used to it while I was stationed in California.  I remember sitting at the table going over some case work when the table started shaking and I was like here we go.

I was hiking in West Virginia in Dolly Sods and they wrecked the area with fracking. Now you have to bring your own water in because it's toxic. It used to be a pristine area.

For the little extra shale oil produced it is definitely not worth the environmental impact it causes.  The oil industry has one of the most powerful advocate groups with Congress so I don't see any changes with fracking anytime soon.

It's a crime that the politicians are okaying it when it's not in our best interests.

Wouldn't it be amazing if there was a quick way to hold them accountable.  Unfortunately, there is no quick fix to drain the swamp in Congress.  We need lots of non-career politicians in office and a cap of lobbying power.

They are doing their best to keep non career politicians out. It's a threat to their existence.

You've got my vote on that.    If they hold the President to two terms then why not the Senate and House of Representatives.

These guys have it way too good. After two terms they get healthcare and benefits for life. 150k per year and they set themselves up with connections and graft. Every member becomes a multi millionaire.

Very true.  Quite the difference in pay and perks for State elected officials vice US elected officials for pretty similar work.

And they vote themselves raises and for things like insider trading of drug stock etc. no wonder this world is upside down.

Too bad the average voter is not concerned enough about these issues to create some changes.  There is definitely strength in numbers.
