Apparently the new SW/FW assumes, by default, you're  in a NFZ unless you can prove (GPS) otherwise.  I've seen NFZ warnings pop up shortly after takeoff until GPS location is established.

Pretty sure the signal interference  that blocks the US GPS satellite fleet would do the same to the Russian fleet.
