OnePlus5, OTG, starting RC, plug OTG Cable (USB-C) into phone, if LED on RC is constant red, plug the Micro USB into RC, DJI Go4 starts.
Start  Spark then, RC and Spark connect, DJI Go4 App : "Go fly"
Works every time ;-)

Have you tried flying with an OTG cable?

I use a nexus 7 (2013) Android 6.0.1. With the OTG I don't need to worry about WiFi. been flying for about 4 months, no probs so far.
