THIS WORKED!!! Thank you very much, to many different places to update the RC firmware. I have not flown it yet but will try to tonight when it clears up a little. Then I can report back on the erratic flight.
Perhaps you have tried this already, but download latest version of DJI Assistant 2 (V1.1.2-2) from Here.
Success!
Aircraft: V02.00.0106 Using Aardvark's link for DJI Assistant V1.1.2-2
Applied the firmware twice for each battery change, just in case it matters.
Remote controller 1.9.2
Don't know but suspect DJI may have done a tweak to DJI Go 4 app. Before I could not upgrade to the latest level no matter what I did. an 'auto' upgrade became available which updated to the latest RC level.
Something that is useless: When the DJI Assistant 2 app is opened there are three bars on the top right. Hold these down for more than 5 seconds and release. A firmware updater for the RC then pops up. Tip: This is a piece of rubbish, don't use it. IT is only good for reporting the current RC firmware version but no good for updating.
After the firmware upgrade on the aircraft I did an IMU calibration:
The calibration process has changed for the P4. It now seems to be the same as the P4 pro.
Had to manually calibrate gimbal roll to get my horizon horizontal.
Now everything works fine. Nothing is getting hot, no errors are being reported.
I am getting some video lag sometimes but am using an old iPhone 5S which struggles.
It's windy here so I can't say how stable it is on a fine day but seems reasonable.
It is bucking a bit so I can't be sure if its wind or not?
It is possible that the aircraft is a little more aggressive than before but not as much as sports mode.
There is beginner and tripod mode to choose to slow it down if required.
Currently all looks good, recapping problem was:
Remote controller would not update to the latest.
Aircraft updated to latest but using the latest DJI Assistant 2 program. Applied firmware twice for each battery.
I keep my fingers crossed that the wind is the only cause of slight instability?
I suspect that will be fixed or fully enabled in next build. It appears in the Gimbal adjustments. But with the P4 when yaw adjustment is tapped then there is no change in reading. BUT if you then check the roll setting you will see it has changed; very strange.

OK that's exactly what I am experiencing.
Normal for the current firmware, thanks for the info.
