1. Can I use Osmo Mobile while charging?
2. Can I charge Osmo Mobile with power bank?
3. Is the mounting hole beneath the base (look at the picture) a standard 1/4 - 20 UNC thread?

1. yes.
2. yes
3. not 100% sure, but it looks the same as the one you have under your DSLR etc. So you can mount it to the tripod
I have the arm and it looks the same size.

They don't specify that.
So nobody knows exactly.
It is more about the balance than about the weight I think. (of course, there is a weight limit also)

You will probably run into problems with larger phones (very large phones) as you can not balance them correctly.
Also it is not advised to add anything  to your phone, like a case etc. while in the Osmo Mobile.
I have used my iPhone SE with a 90degrees cable and powerbank connected. That did work, but the location of the clamp is not so good for adding anything to the port. (there is simply not a lot of room between the phone and the clamp)

For #3 Yes it is the standard 1/4 - 20 UNC thread ( Saw someone review it on youtube just now)

That is because the gimbal is not depending on weight, but more on the balance you can make.
So if your phone is only 100gr, but can't balance at all, it might put a lot of stress on the motors.
It is not like with a DSLR gimbal that has very powerful motors and the balance is not limited by the gimbal design.
In this case, you will probably run into issues with the actual size of the phone before the weight is an issue.

And good to know about the thread also.
I would only not suggest the base plate actually.
I never missed it at all.
The thing I would recommend is the articulating arm.
That also attaches to a tripod and makes for a firm connection. Where this base is only very loose.
(your gimbal is not fixed to the base).

Nice!
As I said : I would not recommend the base plate. Unless you think you want to put it on your desk a lot.
IF you want to make a connection to a tripod, the articulating arm is MUCH better.
That gives a firm grip.

I can imagine.
I have the OM1.
The only downside, compared to OM2 that I see is the battery life.

So you might want to buy an extra battery (high capacity)
And maybe a charger OR adapter for fast charging.
(the first one allows for using the osmo while you charge, but I never needed that, so I bought the adapter)
Of course, you can use a powerbank, but that is difficult while holding it in your hand.
So a second batt is nice.

I also bought the carrying case. But that is very very big and has no extra space for accessories.
Well, there is a lot of space, but you can't use it, since there is nothing to fix them.
So carrying it around in a case will require some thinking.

Ya I will buy a 3rd party connection join that works with the zig-zag so that I can use with other tripod But I will still purchase the base so that I can display it on my desk

The articulating arm is really good.
You might want to check that one out too!
Not too expensive, very small and well built.

Dji did not selling the high capacity battery on their website or maybe it out of stock
But I saw my local retail store sell it, and the bag include in the box maybe enough for me
I don't want to put to much money on it as I'm saving for the drone

You indeed might start with the gimbal first.
Only make sure (if you buy from DJI) that you have enough to NOT pay for shipping.
Not sure how that is in Malaysia

The Osmo Mobile+the base will cost around RM450 in Malaysia but now I get it for free with my credits and the shipping will only cost less than RM30 by the shipper. They offer a great price to ship my item to Malaysia.

Hi, thanks for the inquiry. Regarding the concerns above, the Osmo mobile 2 can be used while it's charging, however, the process is not recommended and for the second one, it's possible as well but DJI did not recommend to use third-party accessory. I would recommend fully charge first the unit, if you're going to use it for a long recording, however, you can consider as well your mobile device capability if it can last longer. The specs of our Osmo mobile 2 base is  10 x 10 x 3.5 cm for size and 158.4 g weight, we may need to forward your query to our team to see if we could provide the information on your thrid query. Thank you for the interest.
