Just pre-ordered my Inspire 1 yesterday from B&H with one remote (will buy the second one later if I really need it). Anyone here received an Inspire 1 from B&H who can confirm we DO in fact get the DJI "Free" case shown in this thread / forum?

Has anyone taken the foam out of the DJI Inspire case and put it in a hard side case. If so how did that work out? What case did you use? I don't like the zipper.

Nice case, needed to look at a picture for returning components to their original positions the first time. Would have rather seen a set of buckles to lock case then the zippers

I wish there was a case which made it more portable; just big enough for the inspire only. Batteries, controller and props along with camera can be placed in backpack.

Or a backpack that is light as you describe that can also go in a suitcase when you do need to check it.

There is!   . . . and while it used to be stated "for checked baggage" at least some airlines are extending that to carry-on as well.

The thing I don't get is that everyone's cell phone and laptop has some kind of lithium ion battery.

This is true. AND some airlines are now prohibiting all Lithium types in carry-on as well (like Southwest for example)

I bought a 20 dollar luggage rack on amazon  with large wheels as its is easy to drag the case behind you if needed.

note : I found getting into transport mode difficult without flat hard surface such as case.
relatively flat grassy meadow was impossible.

Hi, I have an Inspire1 and it does come with a case.  The case is pretty amazing, they really thought through the design and cutouts.  It will hold 7 batteries, (one being inside the inspire1.  it holds 2 controllers, blades, plug & charging brick, docs. etc.  I am considering getting two iPad Mini 2 or 3's as they fit perfectly inside the documentation box for turn-key travel.  Literally everything you need in a single case.
