Hi!
I use the forum here quite a lot. When Im bored I often go on here and see what people are up to. I was thinking that if I have enouph people interested I will go ahead and make a DJI forum app. That way you can browse the forum, discuss your phantom problems, share photos and talk witht he community right from your device without haveing to fnd the url on your tiny phone's browser. Please vote and tell me your input. I want to see if I have enouph support before I go ahead into development.

It's a great forum, to read and discover a few new things. I like the app idea, and would happily use it.
Not too keen on Push Notifications though. I don't want to be bothered if I'm not on the forum, don't interrupt  my life, to tell me a forum thread has been updated.
Just not that anal about  my favorite forums updates.

I will get to that, when I do... ;-)

I use the awesome and reliable Apple products exclusively, for my Phantom fun.
Never had an Android device...  Had an iPad Air without cellular, returned it for this iPad 2 Mini with Cellular and GPS.
Tomorrow it's being returned and exchanged for an iPad Air with cellular and GPS. I hope this will be it.

So if your app is for Android, does that leave us iOS users out? I Hope not.
It would be a shame to desire an app for the forum, and know the one available is not for us forum members.

If you buy an iPad or iPhone, you have thirty days to return or exchange it.
& So theoretically, you could return it several times over several months until you had the app ready, then return it for full refund. ;-)
I'm not suggesting this, just saying it's indeed possible to return or exchange it, when the time is right.

Perhaps you have friends who use these iOS devices... Could you perhaps get them onboard?

Thanks for the info request, but please don't leave us out. Thanks again.

Hi,
I really would like to publish to ios and what you say that it really means alot to me but I simply do not have the resources. I have friends with all the devices I need but it costs so much to publish onto the app store and right now I'm focusing all my efforts on purchasing the P3. Working 12 hour shifts just so I can afford it  I'm really sorry and I would if I could but I just simply cannot. are there any other dji forum apps on the app store? I'm sure there must be. Why not take a look? Couldn't hurt.
Once again I'm sorry, I truly am.

The PhantomPilots forum has their app on both Apple and Google...

PhantomPilots on the App Store on iTunes
itunes.apple.com/us/app/phantompilots/id995494657?mt=8

It's a great app, if you turn off the Push Notifications. ;-)

Do what ever works best for you. That's fine by me.
Perhaps charge a nominal fee for the app, and help offset your time and cost?

Hi Michael,

Why not create a web based app ?

A web based application is a software package that can be accessed through any web browser. The software and database reside on a central server rather than being installed on the desktop system or device and is accessed over a network.

Some advantages:
1) Cross platform compatible (accessible for any device or computer)
2) No hassle with apple policies etc...
3) Easy and fast updating in the future

Knowledge on programming and databases
HTML5, Javascript, Jquery,
mySQL database with ajax queries

Please let us know what you think.

Hi Michael,

That was my original idea. But still, publishing to Apple is 90$/year

You wouldn't need to publish to Apple if you make a web app. People would be able to add a shortcut to their home screen -- like this:
