tbh i don't give as if DJI is going for any certification for their legacy drones - they can set this limit for a Mini 4 (Pro) and everyone that gets is is aware of it. But cutting down features on exisiting models with no further notice is a crappy thing to do and i'm pretty sure that there're a few countries where you can sue them for doing something like this.

I believe AGL is strictly relative to the earth's surface. 400ft + tall man made structures do exist and, from purely an AGL consideration and ignoring FAA part 107 stuff in the USA, you are not, as far as I know, allowed to fly above them.

I have the application 1.10.4 and then I can set the height to 500 meters without any problem.
but it offers me another update and I have refused it so far.

The problem occured on Adroid devices incl. RC PRO in countries under EASA regulation, European Community. So if you had no problem, you either have an Apple device or are outside the EU.

Yes it will... No difference from a phone where you install application and delete them if you don't want them. That's for the RC Pro...


The question now is, why bother to update from .1 to .6 if you don't want the new voices???

You can fly 15m above a structure, from what i read in the ANO BUT, one caveat i believe is that it should be a commercial flight with insurance—been a while since i read that mind, probably about 3 months now.

Obviously the 120m limit has been a software bug on Android devices. Very happy about the short term fix. Got my blood pressure down again. Hopefully DJI will not touch this again...

Everything is back using 1.10.6.

I’m sure some of the cheap “toy” drones will fly higher than this. If this restriction is implemented it will make DJI drones fall into the category of  “very expensive toy” with no advantages. Thanks Brussels.

You're absolutely right. Thisfor I ditched the Avata and bought 4 FPV drones instead. At least there, using the O3 Air Unit, DJI did a really good job. And I still love the Mini 3 Pro and the Mavic 3, they will stay with me for much longer. I swear!

Every FPV drone flies as high as the remote and VTX signals carry. And even if you use O3AU, there is no position data or other information sent out. It is all up to you and your responsibility. That's kind of nice.

And last post about this issue:

I will thank DJI for sorting out this problem that fast! Good, that it turned out to be just a bug in the Android firmware variants. I assumed it would be worse but I was wrong and regret it. Now I'm happy with the outcome. Hopefully it stays this way. ;)

New C0 certified drones will be restricted this way!
120m is the "law"...   

... and because the M3P is "legacy", I love her even more. And furthermore: who owns a Mavic, aka C1, has a proper tool for mountain flights.

I have been reading your story with the Avata...

I have the Mavic 3 and the Mini 3 Pro myself, and while the Mavic 3 so far has been easy to use and flawless, I can't say the same of the Mini 3 Pro... One day I get great pictures, then tomorrow will be a mess...  That's half of the fun, right?

Thank god, means I can fly my P4P under A2 CofC with far fewer restrictions than just legacy :p  granted, come 2026 that will change and knowing the DofT they will add new restrictions to the sub 250g category, but for now, Brexit afforded us some drone benefits at least

Anyway, glad it was just a wee bug, it happens and it was resolved pretty darn fast if i may say so, thanks DJI.

I‘m still on 1.10.0 with the RC in Germany and it says, it‘s current. Was the update withdrawn?

1.10.0 is still the latest FW for DJI RC.

I've been in contact with DJI twice today regarding problems with the latest firmware and they haven't been able to help at all and also taken up most of my day trying to help me. Most frustrating purchase I have had probably ever. For anyone wondering, I have an issue using modes like MasterShot where it won't work because the drone immediately says that the 'max flight distance reached' even though it's super close to me and nowhere near breaking any of the perimeters set. So frustrating.

Oh is it so then Dji should have mentioned the change in new app release notes.

For 6 years I found DJI Alway mention any restrictions they imply as "flight safety improvements"

When come out new firmware for RC?? Still no updates for it...
