Had the drone a few years, over the last year or so the distance prior to signal loss warning went radiacaly down.
I feel it was a sudden change, such as after an update, but I don't see others with the issue.  I have thus not flown it much since...

I have the same problem with a different controller (I have 2) and different phone (and thus different DJY fly app instal).
Today, weak signal at 203 ft directly above head in sight.  Signal loss at 328 ft altitude and 203 ft away, again in sight.  Evently it kicked in auto return home and thus I did not loose drone.
I flewn at same location many times when drone was new with no issues at much much greater distances.

I presume failed unit on the drone itself?  Does anyone have insight / fixable myself?

Appreciate any sight!

Today, weak signal at 203 ft directly above head in sight.
Try flying out, rather than straight up.
Directly overhead is always the worst for signal-antenna geometry.

Hi, mafoi. Thank you for reaching out. The main factors that affect the image transmission distance are firmware, signal transmitter power, attenuation, obstruction, and electromagnetic interference. I’ll troubleshoot for you step by step. Please rest assured.

1. Check the aircraft image transmission distance in your country.
2. Check if the aircraft firmware, remote controller firmware, and app versions are the latest. If not, please update the firmware to the latest versions first.
3. Check the remote controller antenna position. Please place your remote controller antenna in the optimal position.
RC-N1:

4. Keep note of tree and house obstructions near the flying field. After flying for a period, note the obstruction near the horizontal line to ensure that there are no visible obstructions in the aircraft's direction.

5. Check whether there is significant interference in the flight environment. Please turn on the Image Transmission Settings to check the real-time channel quality. Or provide a screenshot or a recorded video for us to see significant interference. If the interference is significant, we recommend changing the flight environment. Common electromagnetic interference sources include but are not limited to Wi-Fi hotspots, routers, Bluetooth devices, high-voltage power lines, high-voltage transmission stations, mobile phone base stations, and television broadcasting towers.

If the issue persists after following the steps above, kindly provide us a video of the operation together with the screenshot of the About page showing the RC firmware, Aircraft firmware, and App version. Thank you for your kind understanding and valued support.

Thank you for the response.

I am in the US.
Firmware / RC firmware and DJI fly App are all current I believe -
App Version 1.9.4
Aircraft Firmware 01.01.1300
RC Firmware 01.11.0200

Antenna aimed as per the pictograms in your post.

Test flight just now, started getting 'weak signal' at 196 ft, screen shot bellow - (the graph line is green with an area listing -95.1Dbm)

A video of the phone screen showing poor signal?  Sorry, I did not fully understand.

Here is a view from the flight history showing signal loss from yesterday.

Let me know which video you need, thanks again for the input - mafoi
