There's an event in the next village with old vehicles and traction engines.
I went up early this morning but there was very little happening.
I'll try again tomorrow. Weather permitting.

It is the same day in Finland. By "official" I meant about the people organizing the event, while the city does have some official events that day, many of the participants are regular civilians.

There were a couple more parked in an enclosed yard, but I couldn't get to them.
They've certainly stood the test of time.

Some days I do get lucky.

Going diving today on another local reef (man made this time vs natural reef last dive) and then doing another "small" seafood broil upon my return.  Afterwards meeting a few friends at the pistol range to send some bullets down range.  So have a full day planned.  Hope your Sunday is going well.

I'm thinking it is due to a difference in the steel manufacturing process plus car metal seems so much thinner than when that Bedord was made.

Im sure the thickness has a lot to do with it and of course newer cars didnt have a chassis as it was engineered into the body shell.

We had a tense moment at the gun range.  A new shooter had a misfire and turned around with the pistol in her hand facing people behind her and asked what to do.  First, keep you pistol pointed down range as it could be a delayed misfire.  Second, learn how to clear misfires.  Things were very tense for a few minutes.  Fortunately, one of the guys present was a master gunsmith and was familiar with her pistol and quickly showed her how to clear the misfire.

I was saying to myself "lady please go back through the safety brief that you had to attend to be able to shoot at this gun range. "  First rule taught is to always keep your pistol muzzle pointing down range.

Yes, the invention of the uni-body.

Heard an interesting tidbit of news on the radio this morning.  They were warning people who had EVs that were subject to being exposed due to the high surge water as Idalia blew through this area to get them out of the garage and park them in the driveway.  Seems that if the batteries were exposed to saltwater when the moisture goes away it lives behind a caustic coating on the battery connections that have caused 2 fires already.

I think her husband was initially shocked when she turned around but the turned into embarrassment also.  Oh well, water under the bridge.  No doubt there will be a few new signs posted soon.

Because of that news bulletin the only 2 dealers for EVs in this area now have a backlog of 2 weeks in getting your EV in for possible saltwater damage checks.  In the meantime even the dealers are now saying do not park inside your garage until after it has been safety inspected.  Guess that is one negative of an EV if you live in a low lying area near the coast.

Unfortunately, a lot of EV owners, as well as others, failed to heed the warning of the storm surge added to the fact that it was hitting at high tide.  Many places flooded that normally wouldn't have been flooded.  Lot of tourists rent summer homes in that area and just weren't used to what could happen I'm thinking.
