I flew with 3-day stopovers both in Abu Dhabi and Muscat in December of 2023. I had a DJI Mini in my checked-in luggage, battery removed. In Abu Dhabi I did not disclose it, the green corridor was straight and short, more like an arch, than a corridor, and did not have explicit warnings. So I spent 3 days without problems. Flew to Muscat, and decided to play it safe, because before entering the green corridor the sign explicitly stated that drones are not allowed. I came to the officer and told him that I am transiting and have a drone. It went smoothly, the people were very nice. Just allow 30 extra minutes for paperwork and bureaucratic procedures. Same, when you leave Oman. The officer gave me the drone back, let me put it into the bag and escorted me all the way to security. So, it is mostly about time. I'm 99% sure, that had I not disclose it, nobody would say a thing, they don't have mandatory scanners after arrival. On arrival to Phuket, also no problem. |
