Upgraded controller and drone to .0797 but can't find Remote ID s/n and don't see any sign of it working.
Also, DJI Fly app is at 1.4.2 and does not load.

Fly app(which, BTW, is currently ver1.12.4) is NOT for a Mavic 2 (which is the model of drone you posted under)  You need the "Go 4" for a Mavic 2: https://www.dji.com/downloads/djiapp/dji-go-4

OK, I have GO 4 but that hasn't answered my basic question about Remote ID.

There are a few posts regarding the RID on the Mavic 2   It seems you need a solid GPS signal for it to be generated and SHOULD be in the "about" section of the newest version of the GO4 app that I linked to I assume you have that now?
Also, I have pasted the following regarding what someone posted about what the FAA needs to be entered in the registration form which is what you are looking for I assume?

I just spent 45 minutes on the phone with DJI customer service... for Mavic 2 Pro's the number you need to provide to the FAA is the following:

1581F (your 14 digit flight controller number) 0

Remember the zero at the end.

They were unable to tell me if there was a way that I could tell through the app if the broadcast module was working properly.  They suggested scanning for it on a nearby mobile device's available wifi but no luck there.

Maybe review this forum post ....start at the last 3 posts of the first page...
