I'm pondering taking the bus to Macclesfield and walking back along the canal (15 miles).
But I reckon I'd get rained on at some point.

We had a little bit of colour this morning but there is a yellow alert for flooding today so we'll see what happens.   Picked up a new car yesterday so no doubt it will rain bucket loads and make it dirty before I have to pass it on.

Luckily we had a little bit more colour today,  but suddenly we have greened up in the bushes a bit and a lot of trees are now in blossom.

The joys of Winter motoring, eh
Not a bad morning here, but I'm exhausted after yesterday's marathon walk.
In the end I did 11 of the projected 15 miles and called it quits. 3hr30mins and rained on twice.

Thats a descent speed,  I assume the surface is easy going.

Canal towpath all the way. Some mud here and there, but nothing challenging. It's my distance I need to increase rather than speed, so the canal towpaths are the best thing for that.  3 mph seems to be my natural gait.

Bus to Macclesfield, then canal walk all the way home (15 miles). But after getting wet twice I wimped out at 11 miles as the coffee shop loomed into view. Then bussed it home the last 4 miles.

Nothing wrong with that.     I assume the bus north towards Healey is an issue.

It would be an occasion for the car. Impractical to go by bus - too many interconnecting journeys.

It wasnt our first choice and the place we had been looking at we didnt find anything,   sadly the name of the first choice is alluding me,  but it was all related to being close to the valley of desolation waterfall.
Edit we had been looking in skipton.

Hopefully, that cold snap will not freeze the flowers that are already in bloom.  Not only was it pouring rain here this morning but I woke up to a low temperature of 17.5 C.

We struggles to find and AirBnB there,   and this place was cheap and looked OK,     we didnt really research the town too much,   I wish we had now.

Lol. we're nearly the same today,  we got to 15c.   The rain over night caused a number of roads to be closed this morning,  luckily not in the direction I was heading.

I'm sure the ground has to be fully saturated with all that rain you've had so it naturally is going to build up in low spots.  You just need the sun to come out for a few days straight and help get rid of that build up.

Now that would be nice,  and not like our trip yesterday where I think we went to the spot with the worst of the rain and wind,  and that was supposed to be a nice spot based on the weather forecast.

Sorry to hear that.  Once again you've been foiled by faulty weather forecasts.  Hopefully, at least part of the trip turned out worthwhile.
